A little expensive for a reverb pedal that only features one mode? Yes, but it's such a great pedal. i used one over a friend's house and i'm gonna order one after i'm done writing this review. This will be an essential part of your sound, the pedal that is likely to always stay on in your set-up. If you don't believe me, read the reviews below. It's great to hear people rave about a non-boutique pedal.

If you saw the video demo of this pedal on youtube and you haven't bought this thing yet, what are you thinking?! Buy it, it's the best Boss pedal as of yet. It's selling out in stores cuz it's that good, i looked in three stores - they had nothing so i couldn't try it which made me feel a bit doubtful. finally i just ordered it from here and i can honestly say it's worth the gamble. BUY IT!

UPS just delivered mine today, played around with it for hours. the think i like about this pedal is that it sounds great by itself and interacts well with other pedals on the board. If you put the settings on high you can achieve a tube like distortion as with the original 1963 reverb unit. that's one of the things i really like about this pedal. You can get all kinds of tones from this pedal ranging from very clean spacial reverb to all out surf "ping" reverb. It's a great pedal, didn't know how it would turn out but it is very versatile and i'm very happy with it.

Bought this pedal a little bit ago, finally have some time to write a review so here it is:
Features: Super Cool Vintage looks of the original Fender US made 1963 reverb unit. And this Reverb pedal is one of the few ever made to sport only 3 knobs making it easier for the guitar player to dial in that sweet desirable tone and save precious time.
Quality: Boss made = Tank. This unit is likely to out live you, you can drop it and it'll be fine, Dents and scratches won't ever fade this baby's sound. This Unit is buffer bypassed which means that it is NOT true bypass but it sounds so good you won't think much about that.
Value: All metal-cased pedals are expensive so the price isn't bad and you definitely get what you payed for.
Overall: Boss' new masterpice, kudos to Boss and Fender for their fine craftsmanship. The FDR-1's reverb was a huge let down with it's unrealistic drips but this pedal just redeemed your reputation in my book!

Perfect Sound. don't be confused... this isn't an emulation, this IS spring reverb. Perfect tool to get that classic warm reverb you've always wanted.
