Great entry-level classical guitar

This is a great entry-level guitar. Given that it's a classical guitar, the nylon strings are easier on the fingers for new players (something that more people should consider, IMNSHO). The sound and tone are great for such an inexpensive instrument. The only thing I've ever done is replace the strings with some D'Addario EXP45s. Although I have a higher-end classical now, the C40 will always stay around as my backup.

I have played guitar for awhile now. My current guitar is the Yamaha C40. This is my first guitar. For the price, it's great. The sound isn't that great, but okay. In the years that I've had it, it's held together really well. A good buy for beginners in classical guitar.

I have owned this guitar for about four years now. It was my first guitar and I love it. I had the option of going for a dreadnought acoustic, but I chose the Yamaha C40 because of it's smaller size and deeper bass. Keep in mind, this is a Classical guitar, not a dreadnought, so the neck is thicker and harder to play on. In the four years I've had this guitar, I haven't had any tuning problems with it. I am yet to replace anything but the strings on this guitar. One day I installed a LR Baggs iBeam Pickup in it and it sounds awesome amplified. Good luck on choosing.
