I bought this F325 Yamaha Gigmaker package as a gift. I do not know much about guitars at all but after reading tons of reviews I chose this one. Even though the extra accessories aren't much to brag about, they are still better than not having them at all. As soon as I recieved this package I inspected it and I have to say I was quite inpressed with this guitar. It looks great, feels sturdy (not cheap)and I believe it was the best bang for the buck. I can not tell you how it play because again, I bought it as a gift. Would deff recommend this for a starter guitar package!!!

Yamaha GigMaker Acoustic Guitar

This is a good first guitar, with a clear, bright tone. I've been playing it every day, and the sound projects well and fills my studio apartment. The only other accessories I bought for it were a capo and some tortoise shell picks.
My complaints, however, are that there is a bit of fret buzz, the strings were hard to change because the bridge pins were very firmly lodged in place (so hard that I had to reach into the soundhole to gently hammer one of them out, and then pull it out with pliers), and the glossy finish is rapidly wearing off, even though I treat this guitar very gently and only play it at home. I replaced the strings with D'Addario Elixirs, and the plastic bridge pins with ebony ones, which has definitely improved the sound quality and playability.
I will eventually upgrade to a high-end solid wood acoustic with a warmer and richer tone, such as a Martin D15, or to one of Yamaha's APX acoustic-electrics, for a better sound, but for now I'm pleased enough with this guitar. If you're going to buy a Yamaha as a first guitar, though, I'd recommend at least getting one with a solid top.

I just recently bought this guitar and it sure does its job. It has a great kit though they could have done a better job with the bag quality. Overall, it is a good guitar with a great kit for beginners.

This was my first guitsr. I own other guitars WAY more expensive but I still find myself playing this one 3-4 times a week. It has become the litmus test for all other guitars.... When I play other guitars I often find myself saying: This doesn't even sound as good as my Yamaha. It's true this guitar has a great sound. As for as the "extras" I've never used the gig bag. It's really cheap and I liked my guitar so much I wanted something with at least a little padding. The rest of the stuff..not top shelf but certainly functional and beneficial. There's lots of good information and play along excercises on the dvd and it shows you how to play lots of really important chords. But if you really want to become a musician, don't count on the the instructional dvd alone. Take Professional lessons from an instructor of the guitar that uses traditional notation and not tab. It's kind of old school but if you learn tab you'll get good enough to not "need" to learn notation. If you learn notation... tab comes real easy and then you can play w/ anyone. And you'd be surprised how inexpensive lessons can be and how fast your playing real music. The Gigmaker is a perfect place to start though.

I bought this a year ago, having never played an instrument before. Over the past year I've taught myself, and now I have a gig next month, almost on the 1-year anniversary of my introduction to guitars.
The guitar itself is probably the best one you can find for this price. The tone compares to that of much more expensive guitars. The parts have yet to give me any trouble.
Quite simply awesome. A great guitar at an amazing price.
The extras in the pack are mostly bad- the tuner works, but now that I've used a chromatic tuner, it just annoys me. The strap is pretty poor quality, and the picks are also. The DVD included is interesting, at least, and the gig bag does the trick, though if you'll be moving around with it alot, get a better case.
