I'm primarily a keyboard player in a Pink Floyd tribute act. I play the 12string on "Wish You Were Here" and "Fearless". My old 12 string is passed it's 'use by' date and I chose the Yamaha purely on sound quality. When I got it home and played it for the first time I didn't put it down for 2 hours, a great 12 string for the price.

I bought this after reading all the reviews. I had a Yamaha twelve with a laminate top many years ago. I thought this would sound better with a solid top, but it doesn't. This twelver has a nice sound, but that's about it. It lacks richness, depth, and bottom end. I will send it back and keep looking.

I played this next to a Mitchell that was 200 dollars and a 700 dollar takamine. The Takamine sounded good, but the Yamaha at half the price beat the Takamine and the Mitchell handily. Really a beautiful sound. Solid top is a must. Features are nothing to write home about, but the woods are nice and the inlays are classy. Buy one!

I bought the FG720S-12 this month and am very happy with it. I searched reviews on 12 string acoustics for quite a while before deciding on this model. For the price I was expecting to have to take it to my local tech for a proper setup. There was no need. The action was very low and playable straight out of the box. The frets are dressed properly and have no flaws. The sound and action on this model is equal if not better then guitars I tried at 2 and 3 times the price. Now that I own it I know that I will not be selling it anytime soon. I rarely write reviews on guitars but I would highly recommend the FG720S-12 to anyone considering adding a 12 string to their collection.

I got this guitar a little while back, and it's awesome. It sounds great, it looks great, and it has a descent price tag on it. I tried a few before getting this one, and I was a little doubtful about Yamaha, but it sounded better than all the rest. Don't waste your money on something more expensive, just get this one and be done with it.
