I bought this guitar in the dark red sunburst finish and I love it! It sounds great unplugged and if you play with the electronics it sounds great in an acoustic amp. Awesome value and awesome quality. Nice job Yamaha!

So, I have been looking for a electro-acoustic for a while and came across this one. The price was right and of course, it sounded great unplugged. I went to plug it in and after some tweaking of the electronics, this guitar sounded great plugged in! I'm not a fan of Yamaha's preamp or piezo's but this lower end CPX gives you great sound plugged or unplugged at a price you can't refuse!

I bought this to take with me to the desert along with a hard case. It can't replace my Ovation 1719. But it seems like a decent value for substitution and worry free guitar transport. It sounds very nice I was surpized. The first thing I did was rip off the ugly pickguard and rubbed off the glue. Then I oiled the inside with Old English. This brought out even more tone. I especially love the on board tuner.

If it doesn't play well, regardless of the sound, you won't pick it up. I've had this one (natural) for 2 weeks and I can't walk by it without picking it up. Great value for not being solid top, back, and sides. Slender neck compared to most if that helps you. No regrets and I would have paid more for it.

I've been playing guitar for about 3 years on a regular Yamaha acoustic guitar, and decided that I wanted a new one. I bought this guitar a couple weeks ago at a local music store, and I have to say, it is totally amazing! Unplugged it sounds like a full body, and plugged in it sounds great. It sounds like a guitar that cost twice as much. The onboard tuner is really good, and the four band equalizer gives you the ability to control exactly how it sounds. It is a great guitar, and I strongly reccomend this guitar for anybody who wants great sound for not that much money!!
