This guitar is finely built and super easy to play. I own several acoustics and I got this one to use for acoustic gigs and rehearsals. The Yamaha APX700 does the job. The 12 gauge strings it came with makes it sound full, but 10's make it much easier to play.

Beautiful instrument. I also have an Ovation that I have been gigging with for the past couple of years. The APX doesn't seem to have the bass response that the Ovation has, but overall it sounds lightyears better. I switched back to the Ovation for a gig just to give it a real comparison and it didn't last more than two songs. The APX just has a much nicer tone and natural sound. I wish I could get that "rumble" out of the E string. I'm guessing the body size is the limiting factor there. To me it's all about how it works on stage and the APX is my go-to instrument.

Let's face it- it's a right handed world. Fine instruments for the left handed musician are difficult to come by. I bought the APX700 several months ago and it hasn't let me down yet. I have a few left handed guitars - not re-strung righties - but actual lefties and this is by far and away the best of the bunch. Excellent action, great sound and a cut-away that actually comes into play. Overall, an excellent choice because...it's important!

OK, Firstly I hold my hands up and say this is only my second acoustic guitar I've had but I do a lot of store hanging out to check out what`s on offer and the YAMAHA APX700 is a great wee guitar to play and so relaxed sitting on your lap. When I bought it the strings were gage 12s so I put on a set of 10s to be kind to my fingers and the sound is good but now I will go up to 12s and expect an even better sound at present. Look, buying a guitar is like buying a new car, You really have to see if its the one for you so go try it out for yourself I'm sure you will fall in love with it.
