The Wechter 5712c Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar features a solid spruce top with scalloped braces and Indian rosewood back and sides, and an abalone rosette. The grand auditorium body style produces a rich tone and well balanced tone. The neck has extreme low action making the 5712c a pleasure to play and the cutaway body gives maximum fingerboard access. Attention to detail and fine craftsmanship set Wechter guitars apart.

All Wechter guitars undergo a meticulous final setup utilizing their Piek Pro System where they install brand new premium quality coated light gauge strings, adjust the action, adjust the nut, trussrod, saddle, file frets if necessary, clean the fingerboard and bridge, polish and repack - every guitar, every time, so that Wechter knows you are getting a guitar that will play the best right out of the box. All Wechter guitars have a lifetime warranty.

The 5712c Grand Auditorium Cutaway utilizes the Schertler Bluestick Amplification for Acoustic Guitar. This system uses a Schertler Bluestick pickup under the saddle and a special onboard active preamp built exclusively for Wechter Guitars. The preamp mounts on the inside of the guitar at the output jack and runs on a 9-volt battery, which is mounted inside the guitar on the headblock.

Gain and tone controls are discreetly located at the edge of the soundhole. The tone controls are active boost and cut for both bass and treble. There are no holes in the side of the guitar for controls, only a single hole in the tailblock for a standard 1/4" output jack.

Abe Wechter has been designing and building guitars for 30 years and over the course of his career, Abe designed and built handmade guitars for artists like John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola, John Denver, Earl Klugh, B B King, Steve Howe, Jonas Hellborg and many other fine players. I have been playing guitar for 35 years and never and I mean never played anything that feels and sounds as nice as this. This equals my 3700 dollar martin and 3200 taylor..for alot less, and the electric sound is BETTER then both. The upgrade to the 3 pick ups is well worth the extra cash. This is HIGH QUALITY. No wonder why the greats had abe wechter build their guitars.

The Wechter 5712c is a quality, affordable guitar with some very interesting features that distinguish it from the crowd. First, it includes the "Artec HT-TBL" three pickup system. You have an under the bridge piezo, a soundhole magnetic pickup, and an in-the guitar-microphone all available to you when you plug in. You can blend all three, or combine or eliminate them in any fashion you require. Tone shaping controls and a phase switch are also provided. Awesome. The microphone adds thickness when blended with both the piezo and the magnetic pickup. The magnetic pickup is natural sounding and the piezo is bright and spanky. The controls are conveniently located on the upper bout so it's easy to make adjustments until you find the perfect setting for your setup and song. Both a 1/4" jack and an XLR output jack are provided. Like I said, this guitar has a bunch of usable features. Secondly, the guitar is made with a solid spruce top and laminated rosewood back and sides. The top and back are bound with multiple layers of white and black, and the soundhole is very ornately ringed with an abalone rosette. Thirdly, the 5712c is manufactured in China and then sent to Wechter's shop where it gets Plek'ed. The Plek machine evaluates the nut, frets and neck of your guitar and makes the required adjustments to make the guitar as comfortable to play as possible. The Wechter 5712c provides a lot of value for the guitarist who needs a guitar that can do everything. It sounds great acoustically, the Grand Auditorium size being perfect in my opinion. The three pickups provide a wide tone palatte to choose from, and it looks and feels great too. The folks at Wechter include a high quality Wechter gig-bag which is a nice touch and much appreciated.
