The Pork Loin Overdrive Guitar Pedal incorporates 2 distinct tonal pathways that are blended together a modern soft clipping overdrive and a modified classic British preamp for clean. At the heart of the Pork Loin's overdrive path is a soft clipped BiFET overdrive gain stage with a passive Tone control, rounded out by a Curve function that gives the user freedom to fine-tune corner frequencies. The Volume control regulates the masses of pork power that exude from its space age circuitry, leaving room for the Clean control to blend in its warm glistening clean tones. Additionally, the Pork Loin has three internal mini controls: Filter and Voice deliver extensive tonal shaping possibilities, while the overdrive Mix control allows the Pork Loin to be run as a clean preamp. Each Way Huge effect pedal has been rigorously tested to ensure quality, durability, and reliability and will deliver many years of exceptional performance. Launched in 1992 by Jeorge Tripps, Way Huge Electronics began as a result of Tripps' search for great tone, and his desire to perform with reliable, rugged and pedalboard-friendly effects that had the magic of his coveted vintage pedals. The very first pedal simply labeled "Fuzz Box" was quickly followed by such staples to the product line as the Red Llama Overdrive, Foot Pig Fuzz and Green Rhino Overdrive II, which quickly found their way into the hands and onto the pedalboards of the world's guitar elite. Ensuing years would see the introduction of pedals such as the Swollen Pickle Jumbo Fuzz, Aqua-Puss Analog Delay, and the Saffron Squeeze. Over the span of a few years, Tripps helped revolutionize what would later be known as the 'boutique' effects market. In late December 1999, the company closed its doors as Tripps pursued other opportunities, sending demand for Way Huge products soaring, and driving online auctions well into the hundreds sometimes thousands for used Way Huge pedals. Now teaming up up with Dunlop, Way Huge pedals will once again be available to the masses, so all can enjoy their finely tuned electronics, high-grade circuitry and road ready construction, built under the watchful eye of Mr. Huge himself.

I have always struggled to find an overdrive that doesn't leave my low end out on bass. I tried many that were made for bass, but everything just washed out all the punch. Frustrated with bass overdrives I started asking guitar players if they had gotten anything interesting recently and thats how I found this thing. You get a ton of control with this pedal (the 3 interior pots are a really cool feature) and it does everything for me that pedals made specifically for bass could never do. It keeps my punch intact and growls nice an warm. I finally found it!

This pedal is outstanding! My board consisted of a Boss TU-2, Ibanez Tubescreamer, Boss DS-1, ModTone Atomic Phaser, Line 6 Echo Park Delay, Marshall Supervibe Chorus, and a Marshall Reflector Reverb. I needed a clean drive pedal, and it was between the Pork Loin or a Sparkle Drive. I chose the Pork Loin and couldn't be happier. Now, you wouldn't want this to replace a Tubescreamer. You would however want to run your TS9 into the Pork Loin and be amazed. Add a nice delay and reverb for a great sound. I'll still probably be picking up a Sparkle Drive for fun, but this pedal is the perfect accent for any board.

This pedal has a lot of tonal options, your standard volume, distortion, tone plus 2 external and 3 internal mini-pots for more tone tweaking. You can add/blend clean tone to your dirt tone for awesome clarity. This overdrive is VERY thick and spongy, yet retains clarity...the tone control is more like a treble cut and this pedal is a bit dark, but not muddy.

Built like a friggin tank, the guts look like very good quality componants. Definitely a keeper and a reason to try more way huge pedals!

After spending a fair amount of time learning the sonic impact of the various controls, this little box has become my "always on" favorite. It's proven itself when used into tubes as well as when I have to play at a "quiet stage" gig. My sound - a Gilmour meets Morse kind of a thing - was found with some tweaking of the internal pots and having the Pork Loin first in my effects chain to maximise it's fine touch response. The build quality and wide-ranging musical capability of this pedal more than warrant its asking price, imho. A brilliant design available to the masses - thank you Jeorge and the folks at Dunlop.

Im a sucker for anything with more than three knobs. The pork loin from Way Huge is a must for anyone who cares about their tone. Very versatile and sounds great. Turn the overdrive all the way down and it acts like a clean boost/line driver or crank the overdrive and you get a nice punch. Its very easy to dial in the sound you're looking for and on top of that there are three trempots inside the pedal for further fine tuning. Enjoy!
