This is my first washburn and will not be my last. What a beauty, I got the sunburst with the black humbuckers. The sound is awesome, and powerful. For the money its a serious bargain, set neck, buzz feiten tuning, grover tuners. great finish. Its a total winner.

I bought this 3 years ago and this my main ax. I own 7 guitars and this one I just can't put down. First off, like any Washburn ditch the pickups, or at least the bridge on this guitar. I use a Dimarzio Tone Zone P-90 replacement and this thing ROCKS. In the middle position combined with the stock neck pickup it has a natural wah sound that is brutal. Combine this with the split coil controls and you have amazing tonal versatility. The stock neck is also fine by itself on bluesy stuff. I unloaded all my gibsons after I got this thing sounding right..really cant go wrong on this axe.

I was looking for a guitar w P90s and was considering a GibsonFaded,or Godin both used.But I got the WI66PROG used on Ebay for $390.Nice fingerboard good finish.It's smaller than all 3 of my electric guitars but nice.At first I hated the pickups, than I changed the 9's to 10's. Huge difference,sounds way better!The imputjack was broken, but a quick solder fixed it. Now I love it!

I own 15 guitars at the present time. Guitar Player mag. wrote an article about the 166 Gold Top with good reviews. After playing one I ordered it immediately. In all aspects it is a great guitar. Next week I will be ordering another 166 Pro Honey colored with the humbuckers. Washburn has come a long way in bringing an excellent product that can hold it's own with almost any other company. I own 3 G&Ls and 2 Les Pauls that don't play as well. I would encourage anyone to try the 166 Pros or other Washburn models before buying. I'm glad I did!!!

I have always wanted a Gibson Les Paul and a Rickenbacker 620, but alas, I don't have the funds it would take to get the guitars I want. Now, for about 5 times less, I can get the feel, looks, sounds and playability of BOTH of those great guitars. The WI66 PRO is simply one of the best looking, most flexible, greatest feeling, smoothest playing and coolest sounding guitars I have ever laid my eyes, ears and hands on, quite literally. Even the case it came with is top notch. So, I still dream of the Gibson and Rickenbacker, but I certainly hope I'll be as happy with them as I am with my Washburn WI66 PRO.
