I guess I have to echo some of the other reviews. I like this guitar and it is very good for its purpose which is travel and practice. At first I had mixed feelings and if it had not been for reading these reviews I may not have been satisfied. I found it to be solid advice to discard the strap and change the strings immediately. I went with Ernie Ball Earthwood extra lights and the tone was remarkably better than the original strings. At the end of a week I am satisfied and I would recommend this little guy. Just do yourself a favor if you purchase one and spend $12 on a strap and strings. The rear strap button is big and I had to open the slot on the replacement strap with a razor. No big deal but the factory strap falls into the "what were they thinking" category. All in all, it is a nice package.

Since this is a traveler's guitar, the body is small and that makes the headstock heavier. In the beginning it takes a while to get used to heavy headstock but once you do, you love this amazing instrument. Sound is good, action is ok, looks are amazing, love the case and best part is that it doesn't go out of tune that often. I highly recommend it.

There are not many things that I buy that I feel compelled to rate but this is one. I bought this guitar to bring on a camping trip. The fretboard is full scale and action was surprisingly very good. Except for the somewhat awkward body, it plays like a quality guitar. That's exactly what I was looking for. The case is molded to fit the guitar and is much better than just a soft gig bag. OK, it's unfair to expect much in the way of sound or compare it to a Taylor or Gibson, but it's pretty loud and if you're looking for a handy, VERY portable, very light, nice playing guitar do yourself a favor and get the Rover! I tried the Martin Backpacker and thought the body shape made it very awkward to play without a strap. Oh yeah and speaking of straps, like the other reviewers have said, the one that comes with the Rover have a very strong organic smell, so just throw it away. That's not important because the guitar is what I wanted.

WOW! The one time its ok to say: Size DOESNT matter! This little guitar has BIG sound when it comes to its size! Of course it doesnt sound like a full size acoustic, but it sounds much better than you would think for its size. If it was ever stolen or destroyed, I would cry and buy another one!

I have traveled with and played this guitar for two years. It fits great in airline overhead compartments. Change the strings immediately to extended wear light gauge strings (I use De'Addario's)and it sounds great. I managed to loose mine traveling recently and had to order another immediately! Enjoy!
