High-quality modeling meets the acclaimed Vox Valve Reactor tube technology in this 50W 1x12. |
The Vox Valvetronix VT50 is a 50W combo amp that gives you 22 amp models ranging from the latest high-gain types to hard-to-find boutique and vintage amps. The Vox VT50 amplifier also boasts a full complement of effects, allowing it to cover the needs of a wide variety of styles and performance techniques. The Vox Valvetronix includes 66 preset programs, including 22 song programs that simulate the guitar sounds of famous guitarists. Even beginning players can enjoy serious guitar sound right away.
The Vox Valve Reactor circuit is the key factor that separates Valvetronix amplifiers from other modeling amps. The 100% analog original power amp circuit actually has the same power amp circuit as a full-tube amp, using a 12AX7 miniature triode to reproduce a distinctive tube amp sound unattainable by digital technology. In other words, it replicates aspects that have an important influence on the sound of a tube amp, such as the power amp's class A/AB operation and the interaction of the power stage with the speaker. You get not only the response of the original amp's power amp circuitry, but also the power amp's distortion as well as the nuances and subjective sound pressure of a full-tube amp.

I got this amp about a year ago, and i've gotta say, after the "new amp glow" faded, i was still very much satisfied with this amp, a few things i would have changed though, there really is no "clean" channel and that's kinda annoying sometimes and the fact that the footswitch is sold separately is pretty cheap, but otherwise this is a very good amp for the price.

This amp is simply amazing, I play stuff from Buckethead-Johnny Cash, and this does the trick. I would highly recomend the footswitch for this amp. The independent reverb is awsome, and the effects are top notch. EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET ONE!

This amp is amazing, the tube sounds great and it looks very retro, most vox do. The sound is amazing, and comes with 22 presets so you can simulate any amp and it has presets for songs like freebird. The amp is a little hard to use, and I would reccomend getting the footswitch for it

Best Modeling Amp In Price Range

I've always been a sucker for the valvetronix amps from Vox. As an owner of the older AD series, I can say these amps definitely have a less digital sound than other modeling amps. I was getting tired of the wimpy volume coming from my AD30vt, and I needed more low end and kick for performing onstage. Some notable improvements are the separate reverb knob, 8 channel slots, and nicer high gain tones. The Mesa model sounds much closer to a real Mesa than before and there is also a nice and maniacally tight high gain model that fits right in for As I Lay Dying or All That Remains depending on gain levels and eq. All the standard rock, blues, and clean tones I loved are still here and better than before. As long as you realize this is not an all tube amp and you mic it up for a gig bigger than the standard 100-200 person fair you will have yourself a winner with this combo.

Straight to the point:buy this amp.I had 2 Vipers,(the 2x12 tube version)give up on me.Next was the Line 6 Bogner valve(1x12)It was o.k..But for the money,i just wasn/t that excited for my investment, took it back and bought this Vox.Take a little time, tweak the knobs, explore the settings.I think you will like what you hear.Lots of features, effects are very flexible, and quite good. The best feature is the power control on the back.I cuts the volume, but allows you all of the power through the tube.I hardly play my Mesa any more.Just a great amp, especially for the price.
