The Vox Valvetronix VT100 is a 100W combo amp that gives you 22 amp models ranging from the latest high-gain types to hard-to-find boutique and vintage amplifiers. The Vox VT100 also boasts a full complement of effects, allowing it to cover the needs of a wide variety of styles and performance techniques. The Valvetronix amp also includes 66 preset programs, including 22 song programs that simulate the guitar sounds of famous guitarists. Now even beginners can start enjoying serious guitar sound right away.

The VOX Valve Reactor circuit is the key factor that separates the Valvetronix amplifiers from other modeling amps. The 100% analog original power amp circuit actually has the same power amp circuit as a full-tube amp, using a 12AX7 miniature triode to reproduce a distinctive tube amp sound unattainable by digital technology. In other words, it replicates aspects that have an important influence on the sound of a tube amp, such as the power amp's class A/AB operation and the interaction of the power stage with the speaker. You get not only the response of the original amp's power amp circuitry, but also the power amp's distortion as well as the nuances and subjective sound pressure of a full-tube amp.

Vox Valvetronix VT100 100W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp Features:

  • 100W combo amp
  • Vox Valve Reactor circuit uses a 12AX7 to produce real tube power amp sound
  • 22 realistic amp models are built in, ranging from the latest high-gain types to unobtainable legendary boutique amps and vintage amps
  • 12 high-quality effects including independent reverb, rivaling the quality of dedicated units
  • 3 banks (basic, effected, and song) are provided for each amp model, giving you a total of 66 preset programs
  • 22 programs of "song presets" simulate the sounds of famous guitarists
  • You can save 8 of your own edited programs
  • Power level control allows you to adjust the output wattage of the power amp, so you can obtain that distinctive power amp distortion even at low output levels

Great Combo Amp

The Vox VT100 is awesome for so many reasons. Here's some of my favorite... The built-in power attenuator lets you change the channel and master volumes until you get the right tone, then adjust the overall volume of the amp. The built in noise cancellation means no fuzz if you don’t want it. Digital effects include; Delay, tape echo, chorus, octave, flanger, phaser, tremolo, reverb and more. The tempo of some effects can be set with either the tap button or the edit dial. There’s a bypass button for effects, but the reverb acts independently. There are warm clean tones as well as dirty sounds which range from the distortion you get with tweed amps and ac's, to the heavy saturated sounds of modern Marshalls and Peaveys. Included are 66 presets, plus 8 customizable banks for your own sounds or quicker access to your favorites. Read the manual before use and get the foot-switch if you can. The only problem I’ve had is that noise cancellation brings down the sustain, but this might be a lemon.

I have been going back and forth between this amp and the AC15 for a while because they are in the same price range. I have played both numerous times but never could make up my mind. I decided to play them back to back in a store. There is no comparison, I am getting the AC-15. The VT100 is great and all, with tons of stuff. But it's tons of features will never compare with the pure tone of the AC series. Trust me, choose better tone with the AC-15.

Let me start by saying VOX has delivered again. This amp sounds amazing. You can get any type of sound you’re looking for, from crystal clear clean to hard core crunch. It has 22 of the best amp models I’ve ever heard, it’s like having 22 of the most expensive amps you’ve ever dreamed of, right at your finger tips. It also has 22 song presets form guitar greats. You can adjust the sound of any of the presets and when you’ve found that perfect sound, write it to a user defined preset with the press of a button. I’ve had this amp for almost a year now and have had no problems, the quality of the amp is outstanding. This amp is the best of worlds, “real tube” sound as well as all the digital effects I’ll ever need. The wattage control knob was a great idea you can adjust it from 15 watts, all the way to 100 watts, and at the 15 watt level you don’t lose any of the overdrive of crunch. I’ve never been able to turn it up more than about half way without blowing the windows out of my house this thing is “loud”. I’m playing a Gibson Les Paul Standard though it and it sounds so sweet. I do recommend the optional 5 way foot switch, it’s a must, and I know it would be nice if it were included, but if it was they would just raise the price, and by the way the foot switch is really high quality and has a long cord. I’ve been playing guitar for 37 years, and this amp is by far the best bang for the buck, buy it, you won’t regret it.

This is by far the best sounding combo solid state amp i've ever played. I compared it with fenders of the same size and wattage and this blew them out of the water. The only problem i've had with it so far is the jacks on the back will get oxidized and make it lose all of its power and clarity. i googled the proble mand saw that some deoxideizing spray will fix this and it does.

Vox VT100 - Very Tidy Indeed!!

This is my first venture into combo amps and my first experience with Vox. I have to say up front that I was initially very disappointed with the quality of Vox because I originally purchased an AD100VT-XL and after playing it for 20 mins, the amp died. It was replaced with the Vox VT100 and I have to say I am VERY impressed. I have been playing for 20 years, gigging, recording during that time and have been a Marshall all valve advocate that entire time. Needing to downsize my rig due to family commitments, I sold my faithful all valve Marshall rig and decided to look into a decent valve combo. Unfortunatley most of the all valve combos are rediculously expensive. The VT100 being a valve hybird was a nice compromise and is as close to an all valve amp I've heard or tried. It has a heap (66) of very useful presets and fx and lets you store 8 of your own presets. The down side is that it takes a bit of getting used to, in terms of making use of the presets and adjusting fx, but a very nice amp, well built, in an attractive package.

They threw in the VFS5 footswitch due to the hassles I had with the original AD100VT-XL and I have to say that I could quite happily play a gig using the VT100. It has plenty of volume and the valve sound really comes alive at the louder levels. Add a volume/wah pedal in the mix with VFS5 and the VT100 would be a perfect all rounder for any situation.

Coming from an all valve background, the Vox VT100 is as close as you're going to get to that valve sound, for a fraction of the price. If you want that true valve amp sound, you have to buy a valve amp - it's as easy as that. If you're prepared to handle a 90% valve sounding amp with a boat load of amp models, fx and features, this is the perfect amp for you.
