Looking for an amp with features for practise at home and recording and needing an amp that will allow my Telecaster to sound like a Telecaster, I had it narrowed down to two amps. Line 6 Spider III, Peavey Vypyr. Why not Fender? That standard Fender hiss that makes putting a mic in front of it for recording not a good idea. I'm not a novice. I've been around for a long time on stage and in the studio. The Peavey was accurate on the Fender settings and my Tele sounded like a Tele. The Line 6 was a tad better and quieter. It took a little more tweaking to get the right sound out of it but not too difficult. The salesman talked me into trying out the AD30VT. He actually had to work at it. I never have had a high opinion of VOX from past experience.
All I can say is WOW! The AD30VT melted my socks! The amp models are dead on. My Tele sounded like a Tele should. The effects are beyond superb! The sound is a lot bigger than a 30 watt amp. It has the depth and clarity and head room and growl of a much more powerful amp. My Music of choice is Blues and hard driving Rock. The over drive on this VOX is move forward drive! When I got it home, I was even more impressed. This is a keeper.

This is an amazing amplifier for a beginner, but I've been playing mine for a few months now and have a problem. The low end response is muddy on all of the settings. I believe that this is a problem with the gain stage because when you turn the gain down to where it's inactive on the US High Gain setting, you get a fantastic clean channel that is mellow on low volume but breaks up just a little bit on high volume. Overall though, I would 100% recommend this amp to anyone looking for an inexpensive practice amplifier or a beginner's amplifier because of the great and wide variety of features.

I was out looking for a smaller kick amp for little rooms and home rehearsal.
I played one of these Vox AD30VT's and was absolutely blown away.
The engineers went above and beyond in recreating the 'in your faceness' of a Marshall on the UK 70's and the UK 80's settings .
I also have seen Fender Bassman clones on a lot of modelers and have never heard a correct match until now...the Low end snarl of a fully driven Bassman is spot on (Vintage tweed setting). You can almost hear the 6L6's (even though they aren't there)
I bought one immediately. I have owned it several months now, and it has earned a permanent home in my living room. It is also nice having the attenuator in the back so I can crank it without waking my neighbors.
I was going to buy my son a Marshall 50 watter, but I have been trying to tell him he needs to get the 50 or 100 watt version of the Valvetronix, because there is so much more possibilities with this amp with no tonal compromise.
I rarely rant about anything, but if you are in the market for a killer practice amp, a versatile studio amp BUY ONE of these.
My only negative comments might be that it would have been nice to have a speaker-out on the smaller models, and being an old man, I'm not a big fan of effects, but that's what the bypass button is for!
Get one..you won't be sorry.

I discovered this little jewel by accident! I went and tried one out along with a Line 6 and Fender Super Champ. The Vox was the best by far! You can get just about any sound you want from sparkling clean to screaming sustain to anything in between! I am a tube amp guy and can honestly say this amp nails the tube sound. Vox did cut corners on the speaker however, so I bought a new Eminence Rajun Cajun speaker at the same time. This speaker really made a big difference in the sound quality and loudness of this Vox! This little sucker is loud and gig-worthy! I've played several gigs with it already and didn't even turn it up all the way! I recommend taking the time to dial it in at home before gigging. You will need the footswitch to play gigs. You can save your favorite two settings and then get a third sound using the manual mode setting! Also, the onboard effects are quite good! The only drawback on the effects is that they can't be changed via the footswitch, except just on or off. Overall a great little amp and excellent value!

Amazing is the only thing I have to say about this amp. Purely, amazing. Great for beginners and amateurs. The effects are amazing and I was very surprised on how well the built in wah pedal and flanger worked. Amazing.
