Not so great

I have been playing on this amp consistently for over a year now, and I have never been satisfied with it. Here are some problems:

1. It's extremely touchy. Even the slightest bump of any knob can throw your whole sound way off.

2. The sound quality is not very good. With or without my effects pedals, I can never find a good tone.

3. Despite how sensitive it is, you have to keep tweaking the knobs to keep a consistent sound. I can never get through playing a full song without turning around to adjust something while I'm playing. (especially volume)

4. You can never get a "clean" tone. There is always some feedback, plus there isn't a clean setting built in anyways.

5. It has several types of amp configurations built in, but all of them have different preset modes (i.e. the gain, volume, etc. is always the same when you switch settings) and if you tap your volume knob after switching amp modes, you could easily double or triple your volume...or cut your volume in half, and then have to worry about fixing it.

6. Not good for gigs or live performance. I have to use a microphone to boost my sound...AT CHURCH. Loud individually, need microphone to play with a band. I can hardly hear it turned up all the way just practicing with a drummer and a bassist.

It's not a HORRIBLE amp, but there are way better ones out there for the price. Practicing, I actually use a little Fender 15W starter-pack amp over this one. NOT WORTH IT...

Decent Amp

I've owned this amp for a couple years now. I use it regularly playing at church on Sundays for about 30-40 people. The clean tones are really nice due to the small tube preamp. One thing I do not like is how touchy this thing is. I'll program the channels to perfection and if I tweak my clean channel even the tiniest bit (Volume, Gain, Tone) when I switch to my overdrive the sound will be half of what it should??? There's nothing like getting ready to roar into a chorus or solo by switching channels and having a dud sound. I've tried resetting the amp but still have this problem quite often. Once I get my sound right I cannot touch anything. I bought the footswitch which works perfectly switching between channels however switch 2 that bypasses the effects have never really worked for me. I'll set a nice deep delay and use switch 2 to turn it off. When I hit the switch again it will be comp chorus or something else.

It's a great starter amp but a little buggy. I prefer my daughters Cube 30 and regularly steal it from her.

perfect bedroom amp

Its a great little practice amp, great befroom amp for seasoned players and a killer starter amp, decent power, tons of usable effects and a whole lot of value for a very friendly price. Wish they had these when I was starting...a 10 watt gorilla and plus 3-4 pedals cost more than this...and it sounds worlds better.

The only con is lack of preset storage, the amp can live up to its true potential as you have to manually tweak everything everytime just about, 4 programmable, foot switchable channels would be a killer add to this line.

Been playing 15 years plus and I love it as a noodler in the bedroom,/deck/porch.

To me its much more musical and has more useful effects than the competeing roland,line6 etc amps.

Very good practice amp. Sounds good even at high volume levels. I like all of the different amps and effects you can choose from. Eliminates the need to hook up all of your pedals. Great value for the price.

I bought this amp for practice at the house. It sounds great anything from clean to dirty. Love it. I have tube amps and it sounds great like a tube amp.
