This is a great pedal for vocals and some guitar applications. Being an idiot I thought it would work between amp head and speaker cabinet, which didn't work. Howerver, putting 150+ watts threw the pedal didn't hurt it at all, awfully sturdy!

essential for lead players

This is EXACTLY what every lead guitarist needs to be heard during solos. I use a Marshall stack with a pod, tried the marshall boost pedal, didn't do squat. No more turning guitar down to 5 for rhythym and losing the balls tone. Killer crunch even at low volumes with plenty of boost for solos with a tap of the toe. A minimum set would be nice, but a small block tapped under heel you can set your own so after solo you don't go silent. great pedal, won't gig without it

Not useful for swells

Sturdy construction typical of vox products. Volume potentiometer does not bring volume up smoothly (very quick attack...almost like using a switch) so this pedal is not going to be useful for volume swells as an expressive tool. It would be OK if all you want is to have adjustable volume. I used this pedal connected between my guitar and amp, not as an accessory to a vox amp.

Great volume pedal

Features - gave it a 9. There's certainly no extra features on it, but it's not lacking anything that I'd expect from a volume pedal.

Quality - 10, firstly, this thing is sturdy. It's a brick on my pedal pad. Next, no noise, being a passive pedal. Works great - quiet is quiet, loud is loud. I've thrown a/e basses, a/e guitars, mandolins, etc., at this and it handled them all fine.

Value - 9, for the price, you could do a lot worse.

Overall - 9, I do not gig without it. If it were lost or stolen (no worries about it breaking) I wouldn't hesitate to buy the same exact model.

Just what it is

I got this pedal because I saw it online and liked the price, I use it in my Digitech RP50 to get the "Wah" effect. It's also very good if you want to do volume swells or just to be able to change volumes while playing. A great pedal all together, and cheaper then the Ernie Ball equivelent. the only thing that might be anoying is when you flip it on or off quickly the jolt rattles the coverplate on the bottom, but if you attatch it to a pedal board or just play on a carpet....problem solved!
