Best Wah

I got this a while ago and it sounds great, I tried this side by side with alot of other pedals including the crybaby and this was by far the best. it is the original wah pedal used by Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix, they are why I wanted a wah to begin with. It is a fair amount more than the crybaby but I felt it was worth it. Plus it is the best looking wah pedal out there

Sounds scratchy with clean channel

The reason I decided to exchange this pedal for a Dunlop Crybaby is that, although the Vox Wah sounds awesome with distortion, it sounds terrible with clean. It makes a scratchy sound that comes out of your amp along with whatever you're playing. The Dunlop pedal does not do this and is a better pedal (and costs a little less than this one). I tried another Vox Wah, and it had the problem too. It seems they all have this problem.

Too Trebly

This wah pedal is simply just a bad wah pedal. My friend's dad bought it for him about a year ago and he never used it so he gave it to me and I have been upset ever since. When turned on there is a trashy sound every time you move on and it adds way too much treble to your eq. Not enough bass or mids and its not thick at all. I like a thick, meaty wah and this pedal does not have it. And this pedal is just flat out ugly. I mean gahly, why would you want such a dull pedal in your rig jeez. Save up and get a better wah pedal. As they always say, you get what you pay for.

I own both this and the standard

crybaby wah. The differences are quite pronounced and have separate uses. The crybaby is more of a dramatic "effect" that really alters the tone of your guitar. The Vox is much more "musical". The frequencies effected seem more focused as you travel though the pedal's sweep. The crybaby is much more "squacky. As I say, different strokes.

Neither has ever broken down through years of use.

Had my first one 1967-1982...got stolen...replaced it with my present one from Musician's Friend 2 years ago...I purchased it knowing that it will be the last one I'll ever have to buy. Many imitators, but this is "The Wah-Wah"!..Nuff said!
