You won't have to dig deep to get great sound out of the Vox Pathfinder 15R Guitar Amp with Reverb. This player-friendly combo packs a ton of top-notch features and killer Vox sound into a package that's affordable and easy to use. It features 15W of power, a single 8" Bulldog speaker, gain boost, tremolo, and spring reverb.

Its distinctive, maroon-colored top panel features a Gain Boost switch plus controls for Volume, Gain, Treble, Bass, Tremolo Speed, and Tremolo Depth. Both the boost and tremolo are footswitchable via an optional VFS2 dual footswitch, offering you even more performance power. (See accessory box on this page.)

In addition to a headphone output that mutes the internal speaker for practice, the rear panel also has a special filtered line out jack and a speaker out. The line out gives you a good sounding signal for recording/live work without having to mic up the amp.

It sports classic Vox cosmetics like basket-weave vinyl, diamond grille cloth, white piping, gold beading, and of course, chicken head pointer knobs.

2 bad amps in a row.

My friend gave me his Pathfinder as a gift. It worked perfectly at the time.. it sounded and looked great, but it quickly deteriorated. First the gain went-- the distortion was ALWAYS there.. and it was tinny. It sounded like an old car stereo. Then the volume went. You could turn it up all the way, both master and volume, and you could barely hear it. I brought it to a shop to get repaired.. they had to send away for the schematics map and then told me they couldn't fix it, so I sent it back to the manufacturer. They told me the warranty didn't cover my problems for whatever reason, and I had to buy a new one.

This one had problems too.. The reverb was temperamental-- sometimes it was there loud and clear when I had it turned all the way down, and other times when I turned it up, nothing happened. The gain switch was also a bit moody, choosing when and when not to work... so I sent it back, and they sent me a new one. By the time they sent it 8 months later, I had already needed to upgrade so I didn't bother opening the box and sold it to someone else.

I think I just got a bad few amps because everyone else seems to love these... but know that they are NOT easy to get repaired if something goes wrong.

Great Little Amp

I bought this amp about six years ago, and I am still very happy with it to this day. I used it in my College Big Band Jazz Band and it did great up against a rhythm section and horns. I use this more than my 50W Tube Amp because I play more solo gigs and in home recording. If you play metal, you will need a good pedal. If you play anything else, this is a very high quality, clean, straight forward little amp worth more than the money you will put into it.

GREAT clean tone!!!

I was looking for a small amp for my bedroom, and after reading the reviews I went with this amp. The clean tones sound amazing out of it, on par with some 10" and 12" speaker combos that I've tried. The only weakness I can see in it is that under HEAVY gain the overdrive/distortion/crunch sounds a bit muddy to me. (but that could be anything from pickups to the speaker not being broken in I'd imagine)

Don't hesitate, this is a great amp.

After a major downsizing,I found myself in need of a 'good' practice/bedroom amp. I read all of the reviews and after much thought ,and a few 'clunckers'I ordered the Vox Pathfinder.BEST move I ever made! This amp is much More than I expected . It is so refreshing to get more than you pay for=All of the 'old school' sounds I love are here 'ie' nice reverb and killer tremelo-I am awed by the clear sound and nice effects and did I mention LOUD ... may need earbuds soon.. I have found the perfect amp-for me..!

This is the solid state amp, that thinks it's a tube amp. Vox did an excellent job with this one. The features are simple, no amp modeling here. The tremolo is a nice touch, as not too many amps have on board tremolo these days IMHO. The boost feature is also a plus, as I keep it on all the time. I just changed the speaker for a little more bass response. This is a great buy.
