vox has done an amazing job with this amp, its the perfect practice amp, it can be battery powered or plug it in to the wall. you can even change the wattage with a flip of a switch from .5 to 1.5 to 5 watts .the effects are cool to play around with as well, and as far as tones from clean to blues to a classic rock and even metal,want to get those tones just pick one and turn the knob and yes its plenty loud buy it now

I can not believe the sound coming out of this little thing. Even the distortion sounds pretty good for its size. I replaced the speaker with a Jensen Mod 8-20 and it sounds great. The stock speaker sounded a little boxy but this mod really opened things up. I mainly play blues and rock and this works perfect for both. I know this might sound crazy but this amp(at least mine) acts like a tube amp in that the longer you have it on and the warmer it gets, the better it sounds. It also has a nice break up with the volume set around 11 o'clock.

I just got this amp last week. It's my first amp in well over 20 years. Once you get a handle on the tap and edit buttons, and how they work, (read the manual!), this amp is quite a joy. The effects and styles are everything you need, period. I use it for practice & I plan on busking with it. I use this with a 1968 Framus Texan 12, converted to a 6, (cuz it sounds better), and a DiMarzio in-hole humbucker. I do need to add a volume control on the guitar. I don't remember 5 watts being so powerful when I was younger. This amp is an amazing little package. Just what I needed to make rock n'roll new again.

I bought this AMP about a month or so ago to use as a "campfire amp" Boy Howdy! This amp, which is so reasonably priced, has an amazing amount of effects....and it runs on *gulp* 6 C Battries! It has a separate volume channel so that it can support a microphone to get that Karioke effect from my friends while I play. It also has all the volume a person could want. Just an amazing guitar amp for me & probably just the right amp for a beginner/student. AMAZING. There is no down side of this AMP.

have owned one for 2 years, reliability is not a problem....am a truck driver. says not to use in a dusty, vibration filled environment...mine works just fine. always use with batteries...or too microphonic in the truck. Mainly play the blues, but it does a decent job with metal...not deathcore however. At home my wife asks me to turn it down...so have to use .5 watt or get cut off...hahahaha. Great little amp for the home...some people complain about no "depth" ...pull off the back panel and let it push a little more air. this is a wonderful little bedroom or practice amp. if you are expecting to sound like your favorite metal artist...forget it...but I can even get close to Megadeth sound. I have found I can nearly nail the "woman sound" of Clapton. Experiment and enjoy. Heard they might discontinue this model...need to buy at least 2 more. You won't go wrong with this purchase..rock on!!!!
