Front Amplug Group

The Vox amPlug Metal is a headphone amp that can help you to create the perfect practice session. The tiny amPlug plugs directly into your guitar-then just plug in your headphones and relish some great Vox tone.

Jamming late at night? Don't want to wake the neighbors? Maybe you want to work out a lick with your MP3 player without taking the time to set up your amp. You want to play guitar right now. amPlug is the answer. Simply plug this palm-sized headphone guitar amp directly into your guitar, and enjoy serious guitar sound anywhere, anytime.

Even with its ultra-compact size, amPlug perfectly reproduces the complex and warm distortion that is distinctive of a vacuum tube, as well as the powerful high gain produced by a large amp stack. Using analog modeling technology, the Vox amPlug delivers full-fledged amp sound.

Even the circuit response of the original amp is simulated completely. The simulation extends not only to the response of the tone circuits, but also to the way in which the high frequency and gain are affected when you turn down the volume control of the guitar. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced.

amPlug can be used in numerous ways. With up to fifteen hours of battery life, it's easy to take amPlug anywhere. In addition to practicing at home, it's a great way to warm up before a live performance or on the road. And amPlug is not just a convenient way to get great guitar sound. There's also an AUX input jack so you can jam along with your CD/MP3 player.

Metal delivers the explosive roar of US high-gain metal sound, and uses two stages of ultra-high gain plus a mid-cut circuit, giving you modern metal high-gain sound anywhere and anytime.

Also available in AC30, that emulates the AC30 top boost sound of a vintage VOX AC30, and Classic Rock, which gives you the great high-gain sound of a UK-made 100W amp.

I had a marshall ms-2 and wasn't satisfied with the tones, so I returned it and bought the amplug metal. Very very happy with this product! Great metal tones! I also have a randall all tube rg50tc and a jackson kelly and love this headphone amp. Great value, great practice device!

Well, it isn't that good as a tube Plexi or Twin but it is very good for it's size and purpose.

The sound out of this thing is great. At low gain you can get the classic AC/DC sound perfect. Higher gain gives you a decent metal sound. My only complaint is with the Am Strat, there seems to be a high static hum in the background, not too loud and not always, but slightly annoying nonetheless. Play it through a humbucker and you get a warm distortion. Play it through a high output humbucker or EMG's and the sound is on fire (try getting that through your 15W).

Feature wise it is perfect. It does not have a distortion switch but at low gain it is pretty clean. The tone dial actually makes a difference and you can dial in some interesting and diverse sounds.

I wish it was in an aluminum case too, but I take good care of my stuff so I am not concerned with it breaking (besides, nothing some duct tape couldn't fix anyway)

Long story short, I couldn't imagine another product in this category doing better, not for the price. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

I play a Gibson Les Paul DC, Fender Am Strat, Lawsuit LP Custom clone with duncans, and my new jewel, Schecter Hellfire FR. My normal amps are a Peavey Bandit 112 (practice), Fender Twin (live) and a Epi Valve Junior (record)

Bought this and have had it for 8 months now. It's kinda delicate but man!!! The sound is monstrous and you can take it anywhere! You can also conect it to the pc line in and it works great for recording riffs and stuff. Great product, just wish it was in a harder type of casing.

Great little gadget

Nice little device if you want practice late at night and don't want to wake the everyone. Also just nice if want to take you guitar on the road with you. It's literally a min amp that you can fit in your pocket. It has a standard headphone jack as well as an aux jack that you plug an Ipod or mp3 player into. It has a volume, tone and gain dial on the side. It is powered by two triple A batteries. It gets a pretty decent distortion from it for such a small device. The only problem (if you even want to call it that) is you wont really get a clean sound from it. Even with the gain turned all the way to one you still get some distortion. Then again you don't get this little thing for clean sound. Overall a pretty good buy. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I bought this for practicing and for playing well after 2:00am because of my neighbors complaining, but when I plugged in, it took the life out of me. Killer distortion, shockingly loud volume, decent clean (but you buy the METAL version for a reason.) This amp is a steal for this price, and sounds better than my 120W Marshall! Sometimes when I don't feel like using headphones, I plug in the headphones and turn the volume to 10, making the volume almost as loud as a real amp. Overall, a great amp for a great price.
