The Vox AC4TVH Tube Amp Head arrived nearly 50 years after the debut of the AC4 guitar amplifier in 1961. The AC4TVH guitar amp head is an all-tube practice amp with remarkable self control. This up-to-date Class A amplifier retains the distinctive EL84 power tube of the original AC4 amp and features a 12AX7-powered preamp. The sophisticated sound is unmistakably Vox, delivering distinctively British top-end tone.

Simple and sexy, the Vox AC4TVH guitar amp head wears its pedigree proudly. The amp's cabinetry features the same TV-front design first used on the classic 1958 Vox AC15, and still used on the Vox AC15H1TV Heritage Series.

One of the challenges confronting an all-tube amp is retaining full tone at lower volumes. To solve this issue, the Vox amp head features a built-in power attenuator, with 4-watt, 1-watt and 1/4-watt output levels—ensuring you never lose that classic tube tone, even at the lowest listening levels. Pair your Vox AC4TVH head with the Vox V112TV cabinet for the ultimate practice amp.

Was comparing this with AC15HTVH at a local music store. What made me decide to get the AC4TVH is due to its various low wattage capabilities which allow me to crank it up comfortably in a home studio setting but yet get that authentic Vox crunch. You won't get that privilage from AC15HTVH which of course a brilliant and really loud amp in its own right.

Great for home studio works. Very versatile, works well on paddles and of course that warm and crisp tube sound that you need. Get a good guitar, tremolo and reverb pedals or throw an additional delay to go along with this amp. For small venue gigs and home studio use this unit is definitely sufficient and satisfying.

I've always been a solid state kind of guy but after trying this thing at a local shop I have mostly changed my mind. Its not very big but its loud and gorgous. I played an Epiphone Les Paul through it and it had the kind of dirt I was looking for. Then just by rolling down the volume a tiny bit it sparkles. I definatly want this amp!

My favorite amp.

I'm running this amp through a homemade cabinet with 1 12inch Jensen 35watt 16ohm speaker. It sounds amazing. I have a les paul with a dimebucker and '59 it's very sensative to the pickups. I can get dirty very easily with the dime then switch it to the neck pickup and it cleans right up. This amp is plenty loud (loud enough for a drummer) I don't see any problem playing gigs with this thing. I wish it had reverb or tremolo but I cant really complain anywhere else. I went off reviews on MF and youtube to purchase this amp. Extremely pleased. Sounds really good with pedals too. I have a holy grail nano and green screamer in front and it accepts them very well. I've owned a fender twin, 6505+, traynor 210, fender silverface bassman.....this is my favorite amp....attractive price, aesthetics and tone. I played a ac15 long ago with a tube screamer and I've wanted a vox since......I have one and love it.

Tried this little bugger out today. Awesome sound, the tubes compress nicely and you can crank it up and go from clean to distortion just by manipulating the volume control on your guitar. Built like a tank. To my ears the head and 1x12 cabinet sound slightly better than the combo. Do yourself a favor and get this amp.

You get a little taste of the AC 15/30 Vox chime and tone in a cute little package. For the price, and if you want a lower volume alternative, this is a sweet setup with the cab. It breaks up very nice at about half volume, and is still PLENTY loud! Great amp, highly recommend using the vox cab as it sounds best in my opinion versus a nice Fender cab I tried out.
