This up-to-date Class A version retains the distinctive EL84 power tube of the original AC4 amp and features a 12AX7 powered pre-amp, all driving a custom-made Celestion 10" speaker. The sophisticated sound is unmistakably Vox, delivering that distinctively British top-end tone.

Simple and sexy, the AC4TV wears its pedigree proudly. The cabinetry features the same TV-front design first used on the classic 1958 AC15, and still in use on today's AC15H1TV Heritage Series. One of the challenges confronting an all-tube amp is retaining a full tone at lower volumes. To solve this issue, the AC4TV features a built-in power attenuator, with 4-watt, 1-watt and 1/4-watt output levels—ensuring you never lose that classic tube tone, even at the lowest listening levels.

The AC4TV also adds a 16-Ohm speaker output, allowing you to add an additional cabinet and state your sonic signature with authority.

I love Vox, and I live for tone, but with a new baby in the house cranking the Ac30 was not an option. I tryed this amp in store expecting little. I was suprised to hear the wonderful tones come out of this little amp and orderd one as soon as I got home.

On the four watt setting, the amp has its best clean tones, which shimmer and chime as a vox should. I found the best distorted / blues tones came form the 4 watt setting as well, although you can still get great tone on the 1 watt setting. The 1/4 watt setting looses a little tone, but not to the point were you cant enjoy rocking out and still hear Desperate housewives on TV in the next room.

The volume on the four watt setting will suprise you, you can jam with a drummer or ever play a small bar with it, as I have. Its also bigger than it looks, about the size of a blues Junior.

while its not an ac30 , for the money you can go wrong. If I could do it again, i'd buy the head and 12' speaker cab, for just a little more bass and cooler looks.

i have several amps. favorites are this one, and the black heart little giant. the vox edges the other ones out. on the 1W setting, you get the sound that you can only get from all the tubes cooking right along with you, at levels that don't make your wife threaten you with death if you don't turn down. both single coils and humbuckers sound great thorugh it. and for a change, you can still hear the harmonics and picking attack through it. as far a more features, go buy pedals if you want/need them. at this price, you can certianly afford the extra pedals, cuse the amp is dirt cheap, and built like a truck. good work vox!

The guitarist of my band uses this amp, and it's awesome. On the 4W setting, it can be heard along with everything else during practice. He uses it at church, and he hooks it up to his JCM 800 cab. When we were at a venue, and the amp was on 4W with the cab, they told him he was too loud....

This amp is perfect for VOX enthusiasts who just can't get comforatable with using the higher powered AC15 and AC30 amps for 'round the house practice. There is simply no sacrafice in tone what so ever. The sound quality is realy very impressive. The different power levels allows you to pick the amount of headroom appropriate for what you might be playing at any given time. This amp provides authentic and very articulate VOX guitar tone at sound levels that you can live with. Thanks for hearing me out.
