Unfortunately these newer Vox AC-30's just don't match the last one's which were still being hand built in England up until 2002. This is still a very good amp, but if you want the AC-30 sound so many guitarists talk about, you have to the get the original Class A's or the reissues from 90's and early 2000's. Yes, you may pay a little more than this one, but for a few hundred more, it is well worth it!

I actually found one of the last UK AC30 TB models with the blue speakers. I also have a Fender Super Reverb, Bassman and Marshall 1987/1960 stack. The AC30 TB rocks. I can mix the channels and the trem is amazing. I, now, know why so many pros have used these. If the CC2 sounds anything like my TB, you need to buy one.

I have had many different amps including a mesa triple rectifier, a laney vh100r, a couple fenders, and i used a vht pitbull 100cl for a little while, and the AC30 is the best amp I have ever had! The tone of the amp is killer, the sustain that comes from this amp is amazing, and the crunch will melt your face off. I have owned one for 3 years and will never get rid of it. I know run the AC30 and a fender blues jr in stereo now and they are killer together.

After searching for over 2 years for an amp. I found exactly what I had been searching for. I had ignored vox the whole two years due to the "the beatles played vox pfft." then I plugged into one and it was exactly what I wanted. I tried the cc2 and the cc2x and the cc2x just had it. I heard all about the reliability issues but 8 months later playing It every show (about 4 a week, it hasn't let me down yet. I loved it so much I bought a second. Bottom line it comes with a warranty so if it blows you get it taken care of. I've had two orange ad30's blow on me, and I'd never part with my ac30's now they are my most prized amps.

I bought this amp about 7 months ago and absolutely love it. Even without all the bells and whistles that other amps in this price range come with, it provides tones a plenty. If your into playing the blues this is the amp for you. I have not used it in a band setting but would imagine that it would hold it's own in a small to medium size venue. I play a 57 Strat Reissue and am still looking for my sweetspot but enough fine tuning you'll find a bunch of really nice tones from real clean and dry to a real spacial open sound with some reverb. Add a distortion box and it will get as raunchy as you like. I'm not sorry I paid what I did for this.
