The Voodoo Lab Wahzoo guitar effects pedal is one of the most versatile wah pedals ever built. Combining the finest classic wah tones, a funk-approved Autowah, a unique programmable Stepwah, and true bypass via gold contact relay, Wahzoo delivers all the sounds you've been looking for and more.

The Vintage setting delivers all the clarity and expressiveness of the classic, highly sought after, Clyde McCoy signature wah. You'll immediately notice the throw, taper, and feel to be inherently vocal and musical.

The guitar pedal's Autowah mode is simply a great implementation of this classic effect. But rather than using a generic band pass filter, it's based around an outstanding vintage wah. Plus, the treadle position allows you to switch from normal to a reverse envelope.

The Stepwah setting is a customizable pattern setting where you get to customize your perfect wah. In the sequence creation mode, you design rhythmic patterns of up to 30 wah positions. Switch to Step, and wahzoo auto-magically steps through your sequence. You can store 4 custom sequences of your own creation. Plus you can use the treadle to sweep from slow to ultra-fast tempos on the fly. Whether you're looking for the ultimate wah pedal, or want to go deep into uncharted territory, Voodoo Lab delivers versatility and tone up the Wahzoo.

Excellent Wah

After sampling most of what was out there in terms of a replacement for my old Cry Baby, this pedal stood head and shoulders above the rest.

VERY easy to use - I plugged my LP into it and plugged it into an amp and was immediately able to get great sounds. I never looked at the manual until I wanted to play with the Step-Wah feature. Additionally, the manufacturer has some nice videos on their site that illustrates the features quite nicely.

Overall, this was VERY easy to get up and running. Battery included, you plug it in out of the box and you are jamming.

My setup is twofold. I play a 71 LP Custom and an 88 jap Strat. I use a PoD 2.0 with an old Peavy Backstage Plus in my office. The other amp I use is a Marshal JCM900 with a typical 4x12 cab.

My old wah pedal was a Crybaby as well as the wah on the Line6 floorboard. The Crybaby was very noisy and clunky - Admittedly, I have had it many years and it's just old and dead now. The Line6 was never an option since the sweet spot for the wah sweep on the pedal was a very small area in the middle of the pedal's travel. The Line6 pedal did not want to hold a position once you took your foot off of it either.

The WahZoo has a great vintage tone and it is QUIET. No hum, no buzzing. The pedal's action is beautiful - VERY expressive. The sweep of the wah effect spans the entire range of the pedal's movement and is very linear.

When I take my foot off of it, it holds the pedal exactly where I put it. Very nice. Very smooth.

The Autowah feature is REALLY slick. You can have it apply wah based on attack and adjust the attack threshold so you never have to touch the pedal and are still able to get great effects in your playing that are again, very expressive. Add to that the voicing of the autowah can be controlled by the pedal position as well.

The StepWah feature took me a little bit to get used to. But once I had it set up, I found a rich variety of tones that I could play with ranging from slow sweeps to psychotic tremelo effects and everything in between. The addition of a tap-tempo is just stellar.

I have had it for about a 2 months and the thing is built like a tank. I would have no issue gigging with this with no backup and that is saying a lot for an effect that is so dependent on a mechanical interface.

While investigating getting a new wah pedal, I called Voodoo labs up to ask about some of the features of the pedal. I was on hold for less than a minute and they answered all of my questions and concerns. They were very friendly and informative. They also have a bunch of sound clips and videos in support of the product on the web site.

My music ranges from R&B to classic rock - Think Marvin Gaye up through Enter the Sandman and most things in between. I have been playing for about 35 years and I own a variety of acoustic guitars and the two electric guitars mentioned previously. I am not a huge effects guy. As a general rule my mainstay is the LP, a patch chord and the Marshall.

If I lost the unit I would immediately replace it with the same unit. From what I can see, this product is unmatched by any of the other wah pedals out there.

My favorite feature would be a toss up between the classic wah effect and the autowah features. The TRUE bypass as a seperate switch is also a great feature so that I do not have to stomp on the wah pedal to get a bypass - Lots of times I want the pedal in a specific place and leave it there and jump back and forth with it in circuit and out again.

I did look at the Ernie Ball, Cry baby and Morely but the features, build quality and tone of this pedal just stood head and shoulders above those. While this pedal costs a bit more than a lot of others out there I really think it's a great value.
