Take the cleanest amp you can find, plug your guitar into the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive pedal and out of this pedal into a Boss DS-1, you may need to add a noise gate, crank the amp and be amazed. If you reverse the order is sounds like crap, but let me tell you... go to your music store and try it like I mentioned above. Your ears won't lie.

This pedal is out of this world good. Take a Tube Screamer, increase it's output, add the ability to blend in your clean tone, and end up with nothing but great tone. I added some flexibility with an option knob on the blend knob and it opens up even more possibilities. I've been through a ton of OD pedals through the years and this is probably my favorite yet.

I bought this pedal off a friend and I'm not sure what I did without it! Though I don't use it as a head crushing lead OD pedal (though you CAN get that sound with it) this pedal can be used in almost every situation. The clean knob magically boost the presence of the signal and can take the pedal from fuzzy to gritty blues with a half turn. When I first started gigging with it, I left every knob at the mid point and got a fantastically balance effect. Tweaking it from there only makes it better. Really great tones through an amp that is slightly over-driven. I would buy this pedal again and again.

I've had this pedal for a month now and I'm totally pleased. I got this pedal and the Expandora at the same time and for the money, the Sparkle Drive wins out. (jury is still in session on the Expandora) The CLEAN control is brilliant and brings pedal versitality to a whole new level. Definately worth the money.

I used to have a TS-808 TubeScreamer re-issue in place of this pedal. The TubeScreamer was great. But something, uh, HAPPENED to it, and I had to use the pre-amp overdrive for a show. I'm certainly not a big fan of my Hot Rod Deluxe's built-in overdrive, but as my TS-808 was missing, I had to use it. My brother and I had another show the next day, so we headed to the music store to look at overdrives. My bro has a TS-9, so we just wanted to get another 808 for me. We tested out a Voodoo Lab Spakle Drive as well as the 808, and I started to like the Sparkle Drive and he liked the TS-808. We decided that insead of getting another 808, we would find mine, I'd give it to my bro, and I'd get the Sparkle Drive. This way, we both don't have the same pedal. So now lets get down to it: I Love This Pedal!!! It has great touch sensitivity, and responds to picking dynamics wonderfully. My previous overdrive did too, but this even moreso! And there's something about the top-end that just sounds great. It sounds just like the clean amp, only hotter. The Clean knob is great, as it give me some vers itility. I usually set it at 9.00 or 10.00 o'clock, with Gain at 3.00 for an overall great overdrive for Blues/Rock. Rock On, Voodoo Lab!!!
