LEDs indicate pedal position at a glance. |
With the die-cast aluminum Visual Volume, the rocker position is indicated by a column of ten LEDs. With the rocker fully back (toe up, heel down) all of the lights are off and so is the volume. As you rock your foot forward, the indicators light up one by one until all 10 are lit. When all lights are on, you're at maximum volume. To find your level at a glance, LEDs 1-4 are blue, 5 is red, 6-9 are blue again, and 10 is red.
The Visual Volume Pedal operates on 9V battery or an optional power supply. It will function passively without power though the LEDs will be inoperative.
Visual Volume recommends using a high-quality regulated 9VDC adapter like the 1 Spot. Boss PSA, Dunlop ECB-03, Ibanez AC-109, and Morley 9V also acceptable. The Visual Volume pedal is easy to service. If you ever wear out the control pot, Visual Volume has a kit to restore your pedal to like new service. Many users are even able to make the switch themselves.
Inputs and Outputs
Input 1 and Output 1 are all you need for mono volume control.
Tuner Out: Even with the volume all the way down, the tuner out still sends volume to your tuner, allowing you to tune silently without switching any cables around.
If you don't plug into Input 2, both Outputs send the signal from Input 1, so you can plug into 2 different amps at the same time.
Plug into inputs 1 & 2, and the Visual Volume becomes a stereo volume pedal. Great if you put a Stereo Chorus pedal in front of the Visual Volume.
Or, plug 2 guitars into the Visual Volume and you can make quick guitar changes without unplugging.
Other adjustments
With the removal of the bottom plate on your pedal you can set the pedal for active or passive mode, adjust pedal tension, and in active mode, individually set the gain for each input.

- Blue and red LEDs

a volume pedal and then some...

having recently picked up the VS Jekyll & Hyde, i was very impressed with their products, so naturally, being in the market for a volume pedal, i decided to check out the Visual Volume. I had tried the Ernie Ball Jr and liked it, but i'd also heard alot of problems people had with the string snapping and whatnot. The Visual Volume is hands down, the best option for a volume pedal. its made of metal (not plastic as some people say) has the same wide sweep as an ernie ball, and the LED's are ridiculously bright! Because of the lights, i use the volume like the volume knob on my guitar, and can roll it back and get different tone options, and always know exactly where i am. Someone mentioned a concern about the mechanism inside the device being plastic, but to them i say, this is the same mechanism inside 9 out of 10 wah pedals, and its more reliable than a string. Overall, the best quality volume pedal you can find. If you want to use a volume pedal to just cut your sound when you tune, get something cheaper, but if you want an extra tool that can really help you shape your tone, GET THE VISUAL VOLUME!!

I used to have the Ernie Ball VP JR. Passive Volume Pedal. And when I saw this I was like. "What a great idea! I can now measure visually how loud I should be!" Which is true, the pedal does that. The problem is, is that's its simply not a great volume pedal IMHO. It has a little plastic stick that goes up and down on the volume pot when you rock the pedal. It is not smooth, or that easy to control. Plus the thing has to be active for the lights to work (which is the point of the pedal) and that adds unwanted noise to the signal! Just get good without lights and save yourself some cash and go with an ernieball.

Gives you a visual reference of where your volume is at. Very handy! Only two small discounts for it...I wish they would make the gear inside out of metal...it is plastic. Also, they should have made it wider. Unless you have very small feet, it can be tough to see the LEDs.
