Uhhhh.....

I just can't get a usable tone out of this thing, have had it for about a year or more, just can't find a place on my pedalboard. The octave thing is cool, but it affects my tone even with the fuzz all the way off. Kind of a boost in the mids thing. No tone knob on there, so I can't change it, and I don't want to adjust my eq on the amp for one pedal. It's built well, I imagine the bright switch would get broken after a while, being so close to the stomp switch. Maybe I got a defective one?

I was looking for some sort of octave fuzz spongy sounding pedal for soloing, and the sales man recommended this guy. I thought this looked kind of childish but this pedal is a beast at what it does. It's a fire breathing dragon waiting to be unleashed. To really appreciate this pedal you have to hear it in the mix with a full band. At first I thought it sounded a little harsh on its own but with a band it fits in the mix perfectly. This pedal will cut through the mix and own it giving you thick smooth fuzz with added octave. Very cool sound for soloing that can get addicting. Your guitar will scream with this pedal.

Angry fuzz is probably overlooked due to it not being that known yet but compared to a muff, angry fuzz just has character that turned heads in the store. I find this pedal works best for me when I have the setting close to the middle 9-12 area. I use the pedal into an already driven amp (tsl100) so a touch of fuzz and octave is all I need from this pedal to make my guitar sound nice and fat. If you take the time and adjust this to your playing style and gear it will reward you with a great sound.

The Angry Fuzz pedal is probably the best fuzz pedal I have used. The thing I like the most about it is its versatility. I like to tweak and play around with "my" sound, and this pedal really lets me do that without getting too many trashy, unuseable sounds. If you have a sound in your head that you just can't get with anything else, try this pedal, I bet you'll find it.

There is a little bit of a learning curve and the Angry Fuzz did not exacly do what I had planned with it. I was getting it so I could get a nice high-gain thick fuzz with a mild octave effect. I fould that once you turn the fuzz knob past a certain point, the octave sounded like garbage. Try setting the Fuzz Level to about 11 and the Anger (Octave) Level to about 9. This sounds best, to my ears, as a really good solo sound for blues and rock applications that don't require obscene amounts of gain. The Bright Switch is great if you use multiple amps depending on how bright they are naturally (i.e. Fender vs. Vox). Also, great analog response to your volume control, great for swells. I think I may wire a 2 volume pedals to the Anger and Fuzz Knobs, for extra control of the levels. Oh and one final note, your not going to get the wall of sound out of this, you'll want a big muff for that.
