i just bought this pedal today and it is amazing. i already have a boss mt-2 metal zone and i wanted a more subtle pedal with smoother, warmer overdrive. i love this because you can get a warm blues sound out of it, or u can push it and get some heavy rock tones out of it. i play through a marshall mg halfstack (not the best amp) but it sounds great. i have the newer version of the j and h but it seems the same. i love the boost on the hide side because it ads that extra kick in solos. this goes great with a vox wah pedal. i gave features a 4.5 because i wish i could get a little more heavy distortion out of it, but i just leave my mt-2 on my board for that. over all very good

I had went through so many pedals.. it was crazy!I took a chance on this pedal and I havent looked back since.I have a Marshall dsl 50 half stack with vintage 30's and I keep it on the clean channel. the JEKYLL AND HYDE has all the overdrive and distortion I need!Remember though...to get the real benifits of this pedal,play it through a tube amp and crank it!only thing about this pedal I am not crazy about is that it is a little noisey with both sides on..but I heard that the V2 has that takin care of that..

Amazing sounding distortion for blues through to heavy alt rock type stuff, maybe not metal. Couple issues tho. 1: The guy who said the left side breaks easily is right, I've had the same thing happen 2: The tone knob is weird 3:Some noise on the hyde side Apparantly theres a new version coming out that fixes these, so wait for that.

i own one of these red machines. Loved it to bits till it started crapping out. first the led lights had intermittent problems. then they did not light up. got someone to fix it for me. few months later the switches started getting lazy. i had to stomp on it much harder for the effect to engage. Lousy quality parts used for this pedal. Great sound but no way am i going to gig with this. Wouldnt dare try another VS product. My other cheaper boss pedals still works fine even after 12 years and this jnh less than A year !!

I just got this pedal, like, today, and it sounds great! It's got both a lesser overdrive, and a full blown distort that will cover just about any song when tuned right. Not only that, but it looks kewl as heck!
