Very happy with this amp

I got this amp when I felt that I needed a better one. I traded my Behringer BX600 (60W) in for this, and I am glad I got it. The first channel is distorted, and can get extremely loud, and can do metal/hard rock. The only problem with the distortion, is that there is only a gain and a volume knob, no tone. The second channel is clean, and can get beautiful warm tones with high gain. The amp also has reverb and prescence knobs, which have their extremes, and their middles. The chorus is okay, but you'd be much better off with a chorus pedal, because it's hardly noticeable until you hit 3 or 4. It's a great amp, especially for the price. I chose this over a Fender 25R amp, and I have no regrets.

Superb little Session amp

I agree with the guy who called this "Jazz perfect."
It's easy to carry in taxis, through dingy hallways of smoky nightclubs, into small recording studios and control-rooms. I use it for teaching, Jazz gigs and session work. If I need authentic, the SansAmp GT-2 does that beautifully. If you want a great little portable amp that is plenty loud enough for Jazz gigs and session work, this thing is perfect. For the money, it is one of the best guitar-amps on the planet.

I was looking for a light amp that would give me the sounds I wanted.I was pleasently surprised with the tone of my VG stratocaster. I admit volume gets out of control when I play so I replaced the speakers with 200watt 8 inch ones as a safety measure, close your eyes and this amp gives you any tone you can imagine.

JAZZ Perfect!

Stereo is crucial for certain effects, especially chorus. This lightweight gem does that and more. For those of you don't don't realize it yet,
8" speakers sound great for guitar, and TWO 8" speakers have nearly the area of ONE 12" speaker. So this can push about as much air as a 1x12" combo. Two 8's won't cause that dreaded "speaker-beaming" effect that clears front-row seats, scares singers, and acoustic Jazz musicians despise.
(tip: put it on a stand or spare bar-stool to elevate it, and turn it sideways. Two speakers aligned one-above-the-other will disperse sound MUCH better than any single speaker!) Tone... Traynor knows authentic old-school tone. They have been making great guitar amps since the 1960's and I have been using them since then. If you play clean or want a little bluesy distortion, this does that VERY well. The reverb is OK, and simple. The other effects are decent too; nothin' fancy, just good usable musical standard effects. However,it is NOT a new-metal distortion machine. It does NOT produce insane volumes. You can add a preamp in front or in the effects loop, but there is something tragically humorous about heavy metal at teeny-weeny volumes anyway. If you are a metal-head, you will probably want to check out something else. For Jazz, or Blues in small nightclubs, this is a fine amp. I especially like it when I have to travel by taxi. It fits in a rolling carry-on bag with an extend-able handle. I carry my guitar in a gig-bag and tow this with one hand. The rolling bag also has compartments for cables, effects, strings etc. So with this amp, you can have beautiful clean tones, adequate volume for real-world gigs, all in a perfectly portable package! In short, this is a real-stereo guitar amp with great tone and plenty of volume for Jazz and light blues. Mature professionals will love it! It will not blow your audience away though. If you want to do that, there is always the Marshall or HiWatt option. Intractable distortion-mongers should look for something bigger.

The reverb mate 40 is a not bad amp. It is good for just jamming out in your room, the built in chorus is a nice thing to have. I bought a distortion pedal for it because the distortion channel is crap! Its dark but not crunchy. I do not reccomend this thing for gigs. It is now where near loud enough. It seems the louder you go the crappier the distortion gets :( not bad for the price tho if you use it as a practice amp.
