Excellent travel guitar and more

I read the reviews in Jan 09 after disappoitments with an Ovation travel guitar and a Martin backpacker. And, aircraft restrictions are making it real hard to travel with a regular guitar -- even if it has a smaller body. I got this little gem and think it's great. It's a tad heavy on the base but it's adjustable, but the quality is excellent, sound is much better than I would have expected, and it's easy to tune/maintain. I ignore the ear buds and put a regular decent set of earphones with it. With a puny Crate amp, this thing produces a lot of sound that is clear and undistorted. It's got my vote.

This guitar is compact, and if you can connect it to the amplifer the sound is amazing. I plan to use it for worship in Church

Traveler Escape Steel String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar I have played the electric bass and banjo for 15 years and only recently picked up the guitar to learn it. This guitar has a nice clean sound when played through the headphones, I have not even used to headphones that came with the guitar, I use my Sure Ec2 earbuds and the built in amp on the guitar will power them even when set on the amp setting, however, on the headphone setting it has a bit louder and seems to be clearer sound. When played through a Crate acoustic guitar amp it was impossible for me to distinguish it from my buddies $500 Alvarez full body acoustic. The built in EQ is limited but it allows for fairly decent tone control. when playing it not plugged in to headphones or an amp, it feels great, but with no sound box it is very quiet aside from string noise. The action is a light action, no buzzing on the frets, honestly, to me it plays like my brothers $1200 Takamine.

This guitar has an acoustic action, it is not an electric action.

The one thing I dislike about this guitar is also the reason I bought it, the size, with no soundbox, it is a bit hard to control the position of the guitar. I travel a lot, so it was still worth it to me.

I have a Speedster and now an Escape. The size and ease of holding and playing it make me forget it is not a full size acoustic or electric. I do heaps of flying and it goes and fits everywhere. Smooth action and the neck is like butter. It doesn't matter if you use an amp or the included headphones (nice touch) the sound is clean, clear and punchy. This product is great value and everyone should have one.
