I bought this guitar some two months...

I bought this guitar some two months ago. It is a really good deal. The quality of the sound is convincing, both with earphones and with an amp. I find it quite easy to play (regardless of some small nuisances with the wire connection when you try to rest it on your leg), and it is, of course, incredibly comfortable to carry. The only bad things are the lack of varieties in the sound (you just control the volume) and, of course, the earphones, more particularly the connector of the earphone. I suggest buying a new, good one, you can find cheap, great value connectors.

All in all, a very good guitar. I would definitely recommend it.

Notes from a Beginner

Overall a great guitar with exceptional quality and good sound.

A couple of notes to add to what other reviewers have said:

As others mentioned, the supplied headphones are a joke. I tried several sets that I had around the house and settled on the iPod ear-bud type. I use a set from Sony that cost ten bucks and they fit nicely in the pouch of the gig bag. They’re a huge improvement over the ones that come with the guitar.

NOTE TO BEGINNERS (like me): As a beginner, this guitar adds a bit of frustration to the learning experience. Because it doesn’t have a body like a “real” acoustic guitar, you don’t get the advantage of resting your strumming arm on the body. This leads to difficulty in finding the correct string and is generally awkward. On the fretting hand is a bit more difficult also. Since with a “real” acoustic guitar you brace the whole guitar somewhat with your strumming arm, the neck stays more-or-less in place. Not so with the Traveler. The fretting hand has to do the extra work of holding the neck up. This could be solved by buying a strap and practicing standing up, but I’d bet that’s not what you have in mind when you buy this guitar. If you’re already a pro, you probably won’t find this much of a problem. As a beginner, you can definitely adapt to the extra bracing requirements, but be warned that this will likely add to your frustration at first.

I found that in the end, the advantages of the travel format outweigh the extra effort to learn to play it. I suggest if you’re learning that you have another guitar for times when you’re not traveling.

This is an amazing guitar. I got the steel string version and it sounds terrific. My Seagull guitar sounds better but it comes pretty close. The headphones are terrible. But everything else is great. Highly recommend.

Impressed

I have had my Traveler Escape (nylon string) for about 5 weeks. I am impressed with this guitar. I was looking for a good quality guitar that I could take on the road with me and leave my real good guitars at home. I was so afraid that the gurilla's at the airport would smash them. Anyway my traveler escape has far surpassed my expectations. The sound quality with the Shadower electronics. Sounds great through the head phones. I have given this a work out at home through my amp and it sounds great. Would reccomend this guitar to anyone. Well worth the investment

This is a real instrument with exceptional tone and is best as an everyday guitar for a person who travels for business and wouldn't or couldn't take a full size instrument with them. It really plays well and its small size makes it perfect to keep in the car or travel by plane.
