This is a great guitar, travel or not! I splurged and bought a vintage Strat.....but hate to take it many places and leave it in my car etc. So I bought this so I would always have something to play. Outstanding all around intstrument. Action is great. Full size neck does indeed make you forget you are playing a travel guitar. 5 out of 5. Worth every penny.

I love everything about this guitar. Sometimes my band plays in tight areas so the compact "traveler" size really helps. I'm still getting used to the tuners. I still find myself reaching out for the tuners on the headstock... or lack there of, haha! But its a plus because it lessens the likelihood of it going out of tune while its in the gig bag. I did have to adjust the truss rod and bridge to my liking but the intonation was damn near perfect out of the box. Changing the strings was a different experience, but i think I actually found it easier to do. Playing directly through headphones is great! I just wish there was some kind of reverb when playing in Clean but its still cool. I did find something out though. With the lack of a headstock, the sustain was quite short, but i didn't realize this until I clamped my kyser capo at the end of the neck (because I needed a place to put it, hah). Now the capo acts as a sustain enhancer and it totally enhances the sustain and overall sound of the guitar. If you have this guitar already, Try It! I am 100% satisfied with this guitar and it gets WAY more play time than my American Strat. or ANY of my guitars for that matter.

The title says it all...I travel for business and have taken this thing everywhere. As others have stated, it plays and feels like a full size guitar - and a pretty good one at that. Even the bag has been thought through - good padding, comfortable to carry, external pockets for picks, strings, etc.

Finally Found Travel Nirvana

I'll keep this short, everyone else here agree's I think, this is am amazing travel guitar, why, because its an amazing guitar in its own right. Finally I can travel, and take an electric guitar thats portable, easy to carry, sounds great, looks great, and plays as well as any of the great guitars out there. Thats the real ticket, quality, and playability. This guitar nails it for a travel guitar. I initially was worried about the price, which I still think is a bit to high, but after recieving the guitar, that thought has faded. I'm thrilled. In the passive mode, the pick-up sounds great. Switch the pre-amp on, as if you were going to use the headphones, and it sweetly overdrives your amp(Micro Cube,Packs easily). You get what you pay for here. The rest are toys, my Ibanaz mini wasn't bad, but nothing beats a full scale full size/scale neck to travel with. Tuners are great, paint job is amazing.....!!!!!!!!!

Great Addition

I researched many travel guitars before I selected the Traveler EG-1 as I was looking for something to play on business trips. Well, since it arrived (I ordered the red one) I haven't only taken it on business trips but have brought it to work every day and when I can, bring it to the park at lunch and work off any stress building up throughout the day. I hook up to a Boss Micro Br and use the phrase trainer to try to learn a lick or jam to an imported mp3. It picks up the Micro BR's modeled amp settings seamlessly which immediately turns the EG-1 into an entirely different and expandable animal. I have a Strat and Les Paul Custom at home but this great little addition gets equal time because of its versatility. The neck is very similar to my Strat. The construction is solid, it sounds great and it looks awesome. I was killing time jamming at the car wash the other day and people were just smiling and giving me the thumbs up. I love this thing!
