Korg's REMS modeling technology and extensive on-the-floor control. |
The Toneworks AX3000G Guitar Multi Effects Pedal packs over 72 models and effects sounds. These include a wide array of vintage modern amps, cabs, pedals, and pickups; a full slate of standard effects such as chorus, delay, and reverb; plus some brand new effects such as Filtron. You can use the Acoustic effect to transform the sound of your electric guitar into that of an electro-acoustic, or Pickup Modeling to transform the tonal character of your pickups without switching guitars.
The AX3000G also provides send/return jacks that make it easy for you to connect your favorite effect unit There's even a digital output (S/PDIF optical) jack so you can digitally record your playing.
A built-in expression pedal can be used in the standard ways for volume and wah, but also can be assigned to other parameters to provide an additional layer of realtime control and unusual effects. For example, if you assign the Manual parameter of a flanger to the pedal, you can use the pedal to control the sweep, creating a highly distinctive sound. By assigning the Toneworks pedal to control the delay time of the Echo Plus effect (which models the sound of a tape echo), you can use the pedal to control delay time. The AX3000G pedal can control the reverberation time of a reverb effect, the modulation speed of a chorus, flanger, or phaser, and much more.
The AX3000G also provides a dedicated control switch for effects, which is especially useful in live performance. For example, you can use it to switch an effect block (such as the pre-effect or insert effect) on and off, to set effect parameters such as tap tempo of a delay in real time, to switch the rotational speed of a rotary speaker effect, or to control the Expression Step Sequencer (ESS).
The Expression Step Sequencer or ESS is an especially innovative feature. It automatically controls effects parameters in a fixed or random way. It allows 8-step control and a choice of 7 possible variation types: forward, backward, alternate 1/2, random, one-shot forward, alternate 1/2 one-shot. Sequencer playback can be slowed or sped up with the expression pedal, and the overall result is sounds with complex movement.
Other features include a S/PDIF optical output, insert send/return, stereo aux input, and headphone output. A built-in auto chromatic tuner operates automatically when the Toneworks AX3000G is bypassed or muted. Simply by selecting Mute mode when you're on stage, you can tune without producing sound from your guitar amp. The note name is shown in the bank display, and the pedal indicator and name display provide an accurate pitch indication that is easy to see even on dimly lit stages.

Tone Works Fan is Disappointed

This is a GREAT pedal, but as long time musician, I reluctantly I am returning this unit. I owned a Korg AX1500 for many years and it got stolen, and I miss it dearly. I bought the AX3000 thinking it could only be better, but have been disappointed. Please don't take me wrong, this is a GREAT pedal, and so full of feature's that you would be lucky to find all the sounds this thing can produce in your life time !!, but in comparison to the AX1500, it falls short. My number one compliant is the arrangement of power pack input, and the guitar input. They are side, by, side, and the guitar cord is always tangled with the power source, no matter what you do. The result is a noticeable hum during recording no matter how shielded you guitar cord is, although "live" it is barely noticeable. The other is that the "tweak" knobs, where you can manually adjust your settings, are too close to the foot switches, and because they are plastic shafted, I can for see breaking one off ( or more) by a careless foot during a gig. Other than that, this is probably one of the most versatile pedals, and best sounding that you could buy at this price. The sounds are awesome, the construction is solid, the interface is easy to learn. One of the major feature I really like about this unit, is the LED's along side of the expression pedal, that tell you instantly where the expression pedal is in the mix, and also used for tuning the guitar. Super easy to see on stage. I would recommend this pedal to anyone, but this model is just not for me. I have been spoiled by the Korg AX1500, and much like my long lost 1968 Vox wah-wah, neither are made any longer.

First, let me just say that I have owned this processor for a couple of months now and I am blown away! This thing does everything I need it to and then some! I have been playing for 19 years and have finally found something that is simple, portable, toneful and is built to take abuse!
The tones are amazing! I play straight through a PA system so I have NO STAGE CLUTTER! What a GOD Send! I love the red LED Display (Makes it so easy to see)! I also love the ease of use. Honestly, if you can't figure this processor out in just a few minutes, well...you get the point!
The only thing I wish were different is that there is no editing this processor via USB! Not a huge deal, it just would have been nice. But hey, for the price, don't complain too much!
Overall, I feel this was the best gear purchasing decision I have ever made! It chimes like a bell when I need it to, or it will rip off your face if I want it to. Simply AWESOME!

Great Modeller

I am an active musician and have been playing for about 8 years now. I have gone through many different effects pedals and processors, and I have to say that this is the best purchase that I have ever made! The style of music that I write is so fine-tuned that there are a few features that I can't quite pinpoint 100%, but this pedal does what I used to have to utilize so many pedals throughout my playing and alternate tuning on amps and stacks all within one unit that is easy to navigate and select. Now I just keep my tune settings and a quick tap or two on the pedal and I am ready to go for my next effect or song. Not only do the features provide for a variety of sounds, it is offered at, I must say, an OUTSTANDING price! Normally at this price I might have only two or three pedals at my disposal. It you are an active musician, or even a hobbyist, I would suggest giving one a try as soon as possible.

I've had this for a good couple of months now, I've had no problems w/ it at all. Probably my favorite feature is the reverbs, 12 very good sounding reverbs. All the effects are very strong, especially the chorus. Many different overdrives and cab types and full EQ making sure you can get any sound your looking for. I honestly have no complaints about it at all. It has a couple more features than the vox version. The synth sounds are great, despite they cut off and sometimes slow tracking, it was very easy to use and didn't take very long to master. The noise suppressor silents the entire amp, the sound quality is amazing and I would defently recommend this to any serous musician.
