The Tech 21 Power Engine 60 is an open-backed 1x12, 60W powered extension cab designed to be used with the Trademark 60. It is not a standalone piece; however, it can be combined with any discrete bass preamp. You don't have to tweak your usual settings or presets. Just plug into the Power Engine and go. It has a level control, 3-band active tone control, 1/4" input, and balanced XLR input and output. You can daisy-chain any number of Power Engine 60s together for the really big gigs.

I have had mine for a couple of years now. I have never been more pleased in the tone and reliability. I leave it on stage at church and just plug my line 6xt live into it every sunday. What I love most is that I am not wasting money on useless features that I don't need. It is a beast and I am looking to buy another one soon to run my setup in stereo. Buy it, you will not be dissapointed.

I think this is a great amp, I've been using it for 10 years and it still works fine. The only complaint I have about it is that its not great if you want to hook pedals through. If you are like me, who have a huge pedalboard of 10+ pedals, you might want to avaoid. On the bright side, the distortion/overdrive on this amp is killer. You can get some really great sounds out of this amp if you just play around with it.

I was using my Marshall 2205 with 4 x 12 cabinet to run my POD XT Live through. Sound wasn't cutting it because the Marshall was coloring the sound even though I was running direct into the effects return. I bought the Tech 21 Power Engine 60 and immediately fell in love with the way it made all my patches sound. Clear, responsive and exactly the way I heard it in my headphones. I also have used it playing in my band at rehearsals and it is plenty loud enough! My bandmates laughed when I brought it in until they heard how it sounded. I love it so much that I've purchased another so that I can run in stereo from the POD XT Live!!!! Another thing I like about this setup is a Stratocaster sounds like a Strat and Les Paul sounds like it's supposed to! I wish I'd they'd had these many years ago because it would've saved me thousands trying to find the sound I have now.

I've been putting off buying this amp for a year or two now and I finally did it. Needless to say, I am not dissapointed.

This little amp sounds fantastic. That is as long as you have a fantastic pre-amp going into it. I use it with a Vox Tonelab LE, Korg AX1000G and a Sansamps GT-2 and all of them sound great (especially the tonelab). It's very loud for its size and its smaller than I thought it would be. Very very solid. Can easily be used for small gigs or as a monitor for larger gigs (using XLR out to go to mixer/PA). The controls on the back are very responsive (active) and interact well with pedals. The back of the amp is open but not 100%. It has a board across the bottom half of the back so there is some nice bass punch available if needed.

It's a simple straight-forward amp and if your looking for a great way to amplify a multi-fx or rackmount pre-amp..this is the way to go. Don't want a year like I did.

I use this to power my Vox Tonelab in live settings. It's clean, transparent, and seemingly doesn't break up at any volume level. As every sound tech seems to comment: "I can't believe how loud that little thing is!"
