In 2005, I purchased my Taylor 614ceLC30 and entered the world of Taylor guitars. That guitar changed the way I play and the way I approach my study of the guitar. At the sticker price, it better! I was not disappointed as the guitar was worth every penny. At the time, the Taylor T5 had just hit the market. One T5 visited my local music shop just long enough for us to covet its looks before the owner came to pick it up. Now, four years later I came across a 2005 T5 S1 for sale at a music shop. I'd done my homework and realised this used T5 was priced competitively and appeared to be in excellent shape. I took my new baby to a Taylor technician for setup and he told me I bought a new guitar at a used guitar price. The T5 was loved by its previous owner and treated like the jewel it is -- not a ding, not a scratch. It has that wonderful Taylor feel, neck action is nice, electronics dead on. Yes, Taylor guitars are expensive and for many of us, worth that expense. In my case, waiting and shopping for the right model and price paid off. This guitar will remain in my collection for life.

I got this guitar about a year ago and have loved it. I can get amazing acoustic sounds out of it and the electric sounds are great too. The only thing that bugged me about it was when I got it the battery plate in the back rattled but that can be easily fixed. Overall this guitar is worth the money so save up!!

A better 335

This is the finest guitar that I have ever played. I was not looking for a guitar to mimic the sound any other guitar, but rather, a unique sound that would improve upon my Gibson ES-335. I play mostly classical music on electric guitars (clean). Before I purchased the T5 the 335 was my instrument of choice. No longer. Setting the pickups in series gives me exactly what I was looking for. As far as quality, Taylor is unsurpassed.

I went to a guitar store in town after pawning my "old" Ibanez guitar for gas $$ ! and i was lookin for a new guitar. I looked through the selection of acoustics and ONE stood out of the others. The Taylor T5 in red. i picked it up and plugged it in. The sound is so superb that i cant say there is a better guitar out there at this time.. The price is a variable, but its so worth it! I have found my "Better half".. and it has a custom guitar case to boot !

I bought this guitar a year ago and have not regretted it. It really can replace an acoustic and an electric for a gigging musician. The only sound which I can think of that it can't produce is that of a strat....but that's not too big of an issue. The action is perfect, I love the short scale length, and the .11 Elixirs are good for electric and acoustic sounds. The case is not perfect, but it looks good. This guitar is extremely well-built and has great decorative touches without being gaudy. Overall, a wonderful guitar for a high price, but you get what you pay for, especially with Taylors.
