The Taylor T5 Custom electric guitar has a select figured maple top, intricate abalone fretboard inlays, and gold hardware.
A resonant, fully hollow thinline body forms the backbone of the T5 Custom electric. Its comfort and playability is unquestionable, with the performance freedom of a solidbody and the feel and sound of a beloved Taylor acoustic. Whether played through an electric or acoustic amp, it delivers a fantastic range of pure tones from smooth, strumming acoustic to crunchy electric chords.
Electronics include a unique 5-way pickup system composed of a magnetic acoustic humbucker, magnetic electric humbucker, and a single Dynamic Body Sensor soundboard pickup, as well as a preamp system for mixing up the exact tone you need. Full binding, bone nut and saddle, stylized F-holes, a mahogany neck, sapele body, and an ebony fretboard and headstock overlay are standard.

This guitar is not a personal favorite of mine. The T5 can go so many ways. Wether you are purely into acoustic, this guitar can do that. If you are in to metal or blues, this guitar can do it. The problem that I have experienced with this guitar is simply its shape. From looking at the picture you will think that it is shaped fine, but if you are sitting on a chair your strumming arm will begin to get soar after a long time. Other than that, I find that the guitar is too perfect, and for me, being too perfect isnt what I am looking for. It has no signature sound so it is completely unidentifiable when playing, opposed to a tele, strat or les paul, which has its own unique sound. In my opinion, this is the perfect guitar for recording with, but it can do anything!

This guitar is the best playing, nicest sounding sounding guitar I have ever come across in my life. Shortly after some friends bought a pair of standards I bought my quilt-top custom and I love it. After about 6 months im noticing a buzz inside when playing the G string, but its probably my fault and can be remedied. This guitar is worth its moeny easy and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This guitar is the best of all Hybrid Semi-Hollow Guitars! This guitar is not like the usual hybrid guitar. Its a very nice acoustic tone to it without it being plugged into an amp! The best acoustic sound of this guitar although is when it is plugged into an amp. It is a clear and smooth tone to it. The electric tone is amazing! It is just like a solid body! The only problem with this guitar is not the guitar itself, its the value of it, the guitar does not have very good resale value. Thats why it is much cheaper to buy it used.

The most amazing guitar I have ever owned or played. Need a Tele, it's there, a Strat, it's in there. How about a Les Paul, ES 335, ES 175, or a Lucille, it's in there. Maybe a Gretsch, PRS or anything else you can imagine playing it can go there. The Acoustic side, just dream and it can emulate it. Martin, Fender, Takamine, TAYLOR, Ovation! One the PA the sound is so crisp and crystal clear, it takes your breath away. The action is so amazing, it plays just by breathing on the strings. The controls are simple but affective. I been wanting and waiting for one of these since they first came out, I wish I had bought it sooner. I would have saved myself from buying the 7 other guitars that this will replace. Bottom line, you will not be disappointed in owning this guitar. Only the price might stop you, but it's worth every penny spent!

I started playing guitar 5 years ago, when i was 12. I started out with a squire strat and then i bought an american deluxe tele.
After a lot of savings i bout this Taylor Thinline 5-way Custom (cherry sunburst).
it is a truly heavenly guitar. Ive never been able to easily go from a bright full clean tone to an overdrived guitar solo with great sounds on each end.
the features built into this guitar make it an instant classic and il never get rid of this guitar ever in my life.
