The Taylor solidbody electric guitar has arrived! Featuring original design single-coil pickups, a sleek all-aluminum bridge, fresh body design, proprietary neck-to-body construction, and unique switching capabilities, Taylor's innovative imprints are all over their Classic Electric Guitar.

The unique Taylor-designed pickups are the foundation the Taylor solid bodies are built on. The Classic is loaded with single-coil pickups featuring a new type of magnet and special winding process. The combination creates vintage single-coil sound with the power and dynamic range of modern pickups.

The swamp ash body is beveled on the back, sides and in the cutaway so you're always playing in comfort and able to easily reach the upper frets. The maple neck features the single bolt T-Lock™ neck joint that pulls the neck into the body. The simple yet ingenious jigsaw joint shape provides a set neck feel and accurate intonation.

The bridge, also Taylor-designed, is amazing smooth across the top. It looks and feels clean and classy. No exposed adjustment screws to clutter the looks or get caught on.

Even the Classic's knobs are a departure from standard fare: elegant looks with a lipped edge that allows great one-finger control. Sweaty hands? Taylor includes rubber O-ring grips that slip over the knobs.

For years, Bob Taylor was asked if they were going to build a solid body electric, and for years, the answer was no. Bob's thinking was simple: he wasn't going to build a solidbody electric unless he felt there was a real reason to. In other words, he wouldn't put the Taylor name on a guitar that was just another version of what already existed.

For this electric guitar to happen, it had to be innovative, unique and worthy of a place alongside the guitars that electric guitar players have loved for generations. When the design group at Taylor invented new pickups and Bob heard them, he knew the time had come. Starting with the pickups, each element of this solid body was designed from the ground up. The ingenuity that Bob Taylor insisted on resulted in the creation of an electric guitar that's sure to inspire and well-equipped to impress.

The best of two worlds: bright sound (both twang and chime) and the warmth of a short scale neck. Taylor really thought this one out. Low radius fingerboard makes for excellent playaability. Clarion, noiseless single coil pickups. It is remarkable on instruments like "Sleepwalk" and "Harlem Nocturne."

I am a guitar snob. I am playing my Taylor through a Victoria amp often using a Fulltone Tape Tube Echo. This guitar is a roots music thoroughbred.

Try it. In addition to its upside, it is well priced and beautifally built. Buy it before they find out it is a bargin.

Taylor's first foray in to the world of single coil. I'm a sucker for white on ash guitars! This guitar is solid and it looks and sounds great - it's a bargain. Taylor did a good job of keeping the cost down while manufacturing in the US. You get a high quality ash body with no frills, no binding, no tri-tone burst, etc., The neck is a nice piece of maple with a quality ebony fretboard and decal dots - the Taylor bridge is a work of art - I wouldn't be surprised to see this bridge licensed by other makers, it's that nice - absolutely no complaints here for the $$$. Soundwise, Taylor's neodymium pickups are UNIQUE. These things cut like a diamond blade. They are amazingly articulate with a very defined sound. They can just about border on shrill if you're not careful with your tone. The dreaded single coil hum is gone, I mean gone, and with the three pups, 5 way selector and active tone control, there are tons of tone in this guitar. The short scale makes this thing a blast to play - tall frets, too. You can bend for days. Taylor's set up stays in tune as well as any guitar I have ever played. For those needing some vintage tones but are always looking for cool new sounds from a high quality axe that will last a lifetime, this could be your ticket.
