The NS24ce Nylon-String Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar represents a nylon-string with a bit of twist. Think of it as classical tone meets Taylor playability, beginning with a slim and fast 1 7/8 neck. This rosewood laminate grand auditorium blends nylon s tonal nuances with Taylor playability and features a cutaway and ES-T® under-saddle pickup, all at an enticing price point.

The grand auditorium is Taylor s most versatile and popular shape, excelling at both light-touch fingerstyle to full-blown strumming. Great for miking and recording, The grand auditorium s balanced mid-range and bright tone exemplify the Taylor voice. The Venetian cutaway of the N24ce offers maximum playability.

The Expression System Transducer, or ES-T™ , is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and the same active controls found on the full Expression System. Featuring a custom-voiced EQ and dynamic response, the system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator (which is lit when the battery is being used). The pickup also has a phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole.

Taylor s ultraviolet-cured finish provides the striking appearance, smooth feel, and lasting protection you'd expect to find on their guitars. Unlike lacquer finishes, Taylor's UV finish is resistant to cold-checking and is much more environmentally friendly. It's also clearer than lacquer and doesn't turn yellow, so wood grain and natural colorations are more distinct. It contains as many "solids" as thicker finishes, so a thinner application provides the same protection while still allowing the tonewood to breath. Plus, it ages the same way that we like a good lacquer finish to age, allowing the guitar to "open up" as it's played over the years.

Just what I was looking for

I have been playing guitar for about 30 years now. I have played mostly 80's Hair Band stuff over the years, but Im 42 now, and feel like I have mellowed alot over the years. I have 3 other steel string acoustics I play, but have been wanting a nylon string for a while. I have had a problem with the width of the necks on nylons, until the new Taylor NS;s came out. The earlier ones cost to much, but now thanks to Taylor, I can afford a good nylon now. The NS24ce has arrived. Like I said, I have played 80's hair band stuff for most of my guitar playing years, but now, I have mellowed out, and play mostly (and listen to) jazz/fusion type stuff. The new Taylor Nylons ( I bought the NS24e model as well) puts a new twist and sound in my sets. Speaking of sound, the Taylor Expression system sounds great. I can dial in the sound I want anytime, any where. The neck is smooth, not to wide, not to thin. The guitar is made SOLID.
