I owned the bubinga version of these for years and have played several others. The intonation is poor at best and they come from the factory with a mediocre set up. To my ear they sound like cardboard. I advise playing it before you buy it. The set up and quality is all over the map. Tuning is a real issue because of the poor intonation. I bought mine to use as a travel guitar, but found the intonation to be such a problem (even after having it set up professionally)I sold it. This is Taylor trading on it's name. I would look long and hard before spending this much.

I've had this guitar for a couple of weeks now, and as I grow more use to it the more I like it. I travel a lot wth my job, and this is going to be a good companion. I bought this based solely on Taylor's brand reputation and didn't get to try it out before buying it on line. So far so good. I think it might improve the tone with a new set of strings. The fit and finish are excellent. The action was very good right out of the box. The gig bag is well made and should provide adequate protection. I does what it is supposed to do as a travel guitar and the tone is what I expected in a small guitar. Taylor has done a good job with the Baby. I like to "doodle" and finger pick to keep my fingers in shape. I have arthritis and this is good therapy for the fingers and well as the soul while on the road.

I bought this little baby last year while i was in Qatar to kill the time because my alvarez was too big to take to the desert and not being able to play was killing me and man did i make a good choice. Right out of the box this thing was ready to go and in no time i was out in the smoke pit jamming. This thing withstood months of 125 degree weather with high humidity (qatar is right on the persian gulf) then when i brought it back to cold rainy germany, it still held up fine even after going from one temperature extreme to another. On another note, Its Loud!!!!! Even my friends who dont play notice the difference. Overall, its a good quality instrument that holds up well to travel and perfectly suits my needs when i deploy.

I picked one of these Babies up about a year back, it sounded superb. Although I am not a big fan of Taylor, I figured that they had a good rep and the sound just blew me away. Well, I played it a couple of months when I noticed the belly bridge coming unglued so much that it was at least 1/4 inch off of the wood. I had it repaired under warranty, then a couple of months later, it was coming up again, but worse. Had Taylor fix it again, and then yet again, a couple months and I had my bridge coming up. Figuring Taylor would enact lemon law and give me a new one, I called again. They basically told me that they couldn't do nothing more and that I was stuck. I never demanded a new guitar, but I guess I should have. I don't understand why this thing did it. I never placed it in adverse conditions, i.e. extreme heat or cold. I always kept the proper gauge strings on it. So the only thing I could chalk it up to is poor craftsmanship. My experience with Taylor tells me I should have never strayed from Martin, so now I'm going on to get myself a Martin LX1. It's a shame that the customer service was so shoddy and the guitar itself now serves a great purpose as firewood, it just sounded so darn good at one time.
