I've had this guitar for about 2 years now and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The electronics are extremely reliable, the pickups are extremely senstive, and the tones are fantastic. I play a lot of outdoor and inside gigs and the constant change of temperature was something I was worried would negatively effect the guitar but to my surprise, it looks and plays as good as new. The only thing that I have noticed is that by using AA batteries, instead of the traditional 9V, it sucks the life out of them. other than that, I LOVE IT! GET IT!

This has been my dream guitar for years, and I received it for graduation this past May. It plays like a dream! The tone is just amazing! I got the 414ce Limited, so it has rosewood back and sides, and it has the most beautiful ring when you let it ring. Amazing!!! This to me is one of the best they have made. Great job Taylor!

Been playing this guitar for 2 years and write most of my music on it, until I picked up my martin hd-28. Taylor makes a great guitar. I prefer this guitar over the more expensive 714 and 814, I really dont see spending all that money when the sound isn't any better . I am impressed by there action on the neck, playability is great without major sacrifice to lows and mids.. If your looking in this price range, look no further.

WOW!!! What a phenominal guitar. I've been playing it for two weeks straight now and I can't get over the tone. When I was searching for the right guitar to buy it was between the 414ce and the Gibson J88 but once I plugged them both in there was no comparison. The expression system is second to none. Buy this guitar, you wont be disappointed.

Cream of the Taylor crop

I've had my 414ce for a couple years now, I bought it new in fall of '06. I've never been happier with a guitar than I am the this one. I've played all the Taylors from the 100 series to the 900 series, and to my ears the 414ce is my favorite. I was going to buy an 814ce because I love the way they look, but I've never found one that I liked the sound of close to as well as my 414ce. The only other Taylor that comes close is the all koa 424ce SL, which I also bought.

Although the 400 series aren't the prettiest models available, they sound incredible. The ovangkol/sitka combination is pure magic.

The expression system sounds good too, I prefer it over the Fishman in my Gibson, especially if playing straight through the P.A.
