I needed a new guitar for playing worship at my school. I wasn't sure if I should get an acoustic-electric because I wasn't told I could officially lead worship yet. But I took my experienced Taylor guitarist.. and we played every brand in the price bracket from 500-1000. The Taylor 114ce blew everything out of the water! I got the 114e because I do not feel the need for cutaway, and sounds bolder as well. I wish I had phase and tuner, which is why i gave 4.5 for features. HAD TO GET IT..

i always play Martin....i own 2 of them...let me tell u after i picked this up, i started playing it more. it had lots more treble and chime type overtones than my more bass ringing martin's. i began to wonder, what if i would have bought a higher level Taylor. so i went to guitar canter and played every model available (for a long time) and paid close attention to details. WHEN I GOT HOME I WAS GLAD I DID'NT WASTE MY MONEY. the 114ce was at least equal and better than some other Taylors.

Solid Instrument

I just retired my Takamine and bought a Taylor 114. From my experience of 22 years, I've come to believe that each guitar has it's own personality. I've played expensive guitars that did not sound as solid as some cheaper brands. The day that I walked into store, I had about 3000 bucks to spend. I left with this Taylor 114 as it sounded the best of the 17 others I picked up. I played the 814 which was rich, but didn't feel as smooth as the neck on this 114. It's all about finding a guitar on the right day. I play acoustic shows weekly and the positive comments keep coming.

I totally love my little Taylor. I spent hours upon hours playing guitars in the price range and kept coming back to the 114e. It has a nice tone to it, good sustain and a great feel. It came ready to play and I haven't had to tweak it a bit. Holds tune very well and sounds great plugged in. Overall I can't complain. It has helped me take my guitar playing to another level and now I can't put it down. You won't regret this guitar.

I have many, many guitars. I am buying this guitar because the name Taylor is the best in the business and this guitar proves it. At an entry level guitar this is better than any high level ibanez, rogue, dean, alvarez or washburn.
