I have been in the market for a new acoustic/electric for a while. I saw a bunch I thought I liked but nothing really grabbed me until I played this taylor 114ce. I can't believe the quality of this instrument. I have only had it for two days so the shock has not worn off yet. The sound is so perfect. Playability is hot-knife-thru-butter. Looks great. I played a Martin in its same weight class and the taylor blew it out of the water. Don't believe me? Pick one up and you will. This guitar is amazing. I am a little taken back that it is being advertised as a beginner guitar. I have been finger pickin and writing music for seventeen years. This is not a beginner guitar. This is the sweetest guitar I have ever owned. I didn't know that you could own a guitar that sounds and plays just as good as a higher-end model just because it is satin finish with no frills. I'm a nuts and bolts kind of guy. Don't need gloss (cause natural is prettier anyway,in my opinion)and don't need all the extra cosmetic crap. Just an awesome guitar that plays and sounds like a 2000.00 instrument for less than a grand. I'm not kidding. You must play it to believe it. I can't put it down. My fingers are about to fall off.

this guitar is good i stress the good not great. i bought it had it for about 2 years. dont get me wrong its my baby but.. the bad not good action on it at all. even when you adjust it it still sits high up towards the sound hole and i had it professionally done. the pickup system in it is undersaddle which is not great. if you turn it way down its not horrible but turn the volume up it sounds like a toys r us guitar. THE GOOD.. has great taylor sound unplugged. stays in tune really well. good knock off of a pro series taylor. its made in mexico though you dont get made in the US till 400 series sooo keep it in mind. hope it helps

This guitar amazed me the first time I heard it. I was at guitar center when a friend of mine picked up this guitar and you could instantly tell without looking it was a taylor. Knowing that this guitar had to cost thousands of dollars I went back to looking at other guitars. While I was complaining about how nothing had the sound I wanted. He said What about that Taylor. Which is when he told me how much it actually cost. I bought the guitar that day. I have had it for over a year and I am still in love with this guitar. If you want the Taylor look, sound, and feel without the taylor price tag. Buy this guitar.

As good as you can get for under $1000

I had been looking for a new acoustic for several months, visiting my local guitar cetner several times in the process. I was looking for something in the $500 to $750 range, a solid entry level guitar. I had played around mostly with Yamahas, Tekamines, and a few $4000 Martin's just for fun. On my last visit I ventured into the back room just to see how high a price could get on a guitar and was astounded to find this beauty for the price I did. It was beyond my budget but sounded just about as good as the multi thousand dollar guitars and I couldn't let such a good oppurtunity go. Now, even 3 weeks later, the fact that I own this glorious instrument still amazes me. The sound is bright and brassy, either plugged in or not. You may find yourself grinning ridiculously the first few hours you play it, the fact that its under $1000 is nothing short of incredible
