I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews that say this guitar is not in the 'beginner' class of guitars. I shopped around for about a month before I found this Taylor. I played it everyday for a week straight. It has a crisp, bright tune. It is easy to play. The value is unreal. 10/10

I went to the music store and played this guitar and I was SOO blown away by its warm smooth yet bright tone. Trust me I've been looking for a new acoustic for a while so of course I looked around and played every guitar in the price range and none of them sounded nearly as good as this guitar. I even played some martins that were a bit more pricey but nooo nothing on this guitar. The neck feels a little weird but I dig how theres no finish on it, I'll get used to it. I dig the all natural =] ps. Andy McKee plays one of these in a video of his and you can actually tell how nice the tone is.

I have to agree that labeling this a "beginner," instrument is something approaching sacrilege. Best way to explain this instrument: Taylor sound, about 1/2 Taylor price. Like stated before, this is a no-frills instrument, and for those that like simplicity, you cannot beat this guitar. Sounds like most Taylors that I have played...in a word, perfect. Smooth setup and low price make this an excellent gigging or practicing instrument. With a good mic or two, the recorded sound is fantastic, and that crisp Taylor sound is easy to coax out of the mix.

Calling this entry level is a joke. This guitar sounds like it's 3000 dollar siblings. The only thing cut down on this guitar is the frilly features. The playability, build quality, onboard electronics, tuners, look, and everything else is everything you'd ever expect from a defined name like Taylor. The only difference is the price tag. I know how I'm spending my tax refund... after playing this baby 7 times over the past week, she's mine.
