The guitar's Takamine NEX body is a scaled-down jumbo style that has a silky balance to the tone that supports vocals beautifully. The EAN40C guitar has a plain rosewood fretboard and a rosewood bridge with a split compensated saddle. The on-board Takamine CT4B Preamp has a 3-band graphic EQ and an extremely stable and accurate chromatic tuner that is great for non-standard and open tunings. This Guitar is just amazing!...Great projection, volume and sound! The smooth, non-gloss finish just feels great and the tone is better than my old Takamine 375-S that I bought new 33 years ago for about the same price, thanks to the Musicians Friend closeout. It is not quite as pretty, but, it does sound better and it came with a case of such quaulity that I have never seen before!...It is just a pleasure to play with all of it's resonant sounds!...Age and Beauty, just do not match up to this new offering!

I've been playing git for over 30+ years, have been thur more guitars than i can remember... the last 8 years i've really been into the acoustic and being a tone junkie stated the search for the best... now not to say this is the best, but it's better than a Martin, Taylor, 2 Tacoma's and a couple epi's and fenders (w/cedar tops) i owned... very warm sounding both unpluged and pluged in, high head room pluged in and low noise, plays great, no buzz w/low action... to sum up, i'm very pleased and the search has ended... happy pickin' bro's...

I recently bought this guitar from MF when I was searching the "clearance" section and saw the discounted price. I have played Takamines, but never owned them, so thought I'd give it a try. It was ready to go right from the case and I have already sold my Yairi, as I like the sound of this guitar better, and it is 1/4 of the cost of my Yairi. Acoustic sound is great with sustain and plays very well. (I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and have owned many expensive guitars, and this one ranks right near the top with any of them.)

I just bought this guitar for my son who has been playing for about a year. When it came in the mail I was impressed with the hardshell case. I opened it up and found a very plain guitar. I was a little disappointed until I started looking it over and didn't find a flaw. Even more pleased when I strummed it and it was almost in tune and the projection and tone is outstanding. I kept on playing it and was impressed with the medium action and good intonation. I plugged it in and got what I expected from Takamine, great sound. When my son got home from school he was unimpressed. until he looked it over and started playing it, and playing it, and playing it. Right out of the box he prefers it to his strat and is now his favorite ax. Great job Takamine, you manufacture great guitars.
