I absolutely love my Spirit. I bought it 11 years ago from a pawn shop. Right now, it's my main axe after I put a Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon humbucker in it, which gives it a loud, sassy tone. The EMG Selects in the neck and mid positions sound great, giving it a deep, rich, blusey tone, to a sort of country twang. The action is great, as you go up and down the fretboard. Overall, a great buy! I love it!

I bought mine a few years back. Last year, I had the intonation fixed, because I don't think it was ever setup right out of the box. Now it is even better. I like that I can sit in an armchair and still play this guitar comfortably. It records very well. I am also here to reiterate, as another reviewer pointed out, it sounds pretty good with the Roland Microcube.

I own a lot of guitars, and a couple "high-end" axe's, but I actually play this guitar the most. Why the hell would I do that? Because it's just too easy to take this guitar with me literally everywhere I go. I have it hidden behind my desk right now, and can noodle around when the boss ain't around! With this guitar and a good quality little battery powered "mini amp" ( Roland Micro Cube, etc.), you can practice or play anywhere: Camping, backpacking, in your car, at lunch break, in the park, backyard BBQ's. It fits easily in a overhead airline compartment. It's just wonderfully portable, a feature I did not appreciate until I bought mine on a whim.
Being so portable, it has taken a lot of abuse, and even has weathered some of the elements, and is still holding up.
Besides the wonderful portability, for the price, the sound, playability, and quality are better than you would expect. I have used it at club jams, and it sounds good.
Buy one just for fun!!

I have an 80 LP standard that plays like butter, an 82 Strat (the real one) that I would give up a kidney for, but when I am noodling around and want to have REAL run I pick up my Spirit GT DLX. It kind of reminds me of my 74 Flying V (that some AHOLE stole years ago). It only has one sound and that is INSANE. I bought it from musicyo's scratch and dent sale several years ago and can't find ANYTHING wrong with it. It has an S_load of balz. And I can take it almost anywhere. Maybe they switched to a cheaper factory in Korea, but the one I have is great.

I've got a lot of quality, super modified guitars to use, (16, 3 Les Pauls, Ibanez, Dean, Epi, BC Rich, CARVIN and so on) but this one is my favorite. Yeah, it's cheap, made in China (I think, maybe Korea, irrelevant), ... the action is awesome, I have had no problems at all with it, the sound and tone sing out that Leslie West sound and that tremelo~ wow~ I can jump up and down on that thing and it's still in tune... maybe I got lucky but this guitar is amazing. I wanted to try the Seymour Duncan Blackouts so I stuck them in and now it really screams thru my Soldano or purrs like a sweet kitten. Like I said, maybe I just got lucky.
