This is a very nice guitar for the money. The factory setup is crap. Spend the money or if you are as myself a guitar tech have the thing setup with good quality strings and a good intonation job. (I found putting 10-46 strings on it solved the whole intonation problem mentioned in earlier reviews. Change the pots and tone cap and put good wiring in it and it is a monster guitar as good as any american tele. After the mods still 100's of dollars cheaper. Good solid working musicians guitar with mods. i love mine and with the upgrades it really takes the mud out of the humbucker much brighter and articulate.

Maybe I just got a bad guitar. I have had this guitar gone through 3 times by a very good guitar tech. I can't get this thing intonated any better than barely acceptable. I am an active musician, and had money not been an issue when I bought this, I wouldn't say this guitar is a good instrument to use for gigs. It's a cheap guitar that isn't bad for a beginner to play. The pickups don't sound bad,the mini humbucker is muddy I rarely use it, but the single coils sound nice. It will be the last squier I buy, but there are worse guitars out there. In my opinoin this sounds like a cheapo you could buy at hastings.

Well made, interesting idea with the pickups, but I find this Tele very unlike other Teles. I guess if you like a heavy, thuddy sounding humbucker, this guitar is for you, but this isn't my thing. It's mostly all about the humbucker, because the other sounds, like the two single coils together, aren't too nice.

I got this guitar last month and was very disappointed. The so called reverse plate switch was not on it. Instead it had a standard 5 way switch. The action was set too high and the strings were even hard to get good bends out of. I basically bought this guitar as a novelty, given it's features. It did not live up too my expectations. Like I used too tell my kids, now they tell me, you get what you pay for. If you order this one, make sure you ask about the reverse control plate! I'll be trading this one for a more reliable guitar.

Wait,,,, Squier?

I'm a lefty, so I didn't actually get to play it. But someone did, and I got to see it, and hear it in person. And I could not believe that this thing was a Squier. I was a Squier hater from the beginning of my guitar hobby, to the day a saw this masterpiece in the store. (I also wasn't a big Tele fan either). This guitar has got the works! It does not deserve to bear that stain that says "Squier" on the headstock. To me, Squier says amiture. But if you just put Fender on the headstock, you could easily fool anyone! Great design, and idea by the guys at Fender.
