Most of the time when one hears the word "Squier" they shy away because they are afraid of low quality products. I was the same way until I bought this guitar. Right out of the box it looked beautiful, no scratches, dents... nothing. I plugged it in and it plays like a pro. Beautiful clean sounds, and "nasty" (in a good way) distortion out of an amp. The neck is very easy for fast playing too. I must say there are some things I don't like about it though. Sometimes the strings buzz a little (not too bad), the low tone control doesn't work well, the tremolo gets the guitar like 2 steps out of tune if used more than once, and finally, probably the most annoying thing, when you use the 5-way switch it sometimes crackles and pops (this can be fixed with the purchase of a new one). I would definantly recommend this guitar to anyone. I don't care if your a beginner, or a 20 year pro! This guitar is a great investment!

Bought this guitar just for the body and pickups for a project guitar. After changing out the neck for a full fledged Fender "57" Strat neck this is one hot axe. Even with the stock neck, this is a very nice well made guitar for the money. And this baby will out-rock any squire, and most MIM guitars. The stock single coils have a nice sound to them. But the Semour Humbucker screams for some very hot leads. Has quickly become my favorite sounding guitar. Don't let the Squire name fool you, this is a great guitar. Buy it you won't be disappointed!

The HSS configuration allows an amazing range of sound and the pickups are noiseless. I compared this to an SSS Mexican Strat and to my ear (and fingers) this one wins. Most of the positive reviews here are from professionals; I am not one, but I have played for over 40 years, am playing this instrument several times per week and am thoroughly enjoy it.

Wow-This is a ROCKIN' Little Strat!!! It feels like playing a pretty good Stratocaster-but one with it's own personality. The Humbucker is High-Output and has a "Wet" sound (very cool). The 'Duncan-designed' single-coils have a great "quacky" sound. Just what you want on a Strat. The gloss neck has a good feel to it,very playable. And the sealed die-cast tuners keep it in tune nicely. Overall a good guitar for the money-VERY Fun To Play. And awesome looking as well-Mine is the Gun-Metal Gray Finish....:-)

Squire to die for! SETUP NEEDED!

This is the one. The workmanship needs help as the frets needed to be leveled. Also had a dead fret at 13th sixth string. After spending $80.00 to make it playable it plays better than an American made Fender. Great sound from screams to squeals this thing has some bite! Quality electronics on this model from the factory!
