Bought it as a travel guitar

And because my full-size Strat (also a Squier) is kinda hard on my back, weight-wise. I've had it for several years and I don't recall having the fret buzz, noisy pickups, bowed neck(?!), tuning or intonation problems that some have complained about. By the time I got this guitar I'd learned how to do the setup myself so I made the few minor adjustments and was happy with it fairly quickly. It is EXTREMELY easy to play due to the shorter scale and fun to play 'cause it's so danged cute.
This guitar is my third short-scale guitar, my first being my first electric ever, which did have severe intonation problems due to the design and location of the bridge (which I didn't understand at the time--I just knew that chords sounded off on that guitar). My second short-scale was/is a Washburn BTM. That one also had some intonation problems until I removed the spring from the adjustment screw on the saddle for the low E string. The Squier Mini was cake after those two. I suspect that many of the complaints are the result of inexperience and mishandling (a bowed neck after a week?!)
Got the gig bag for it and found that my little Vox AC-1 fits in the accessory pocket, rounding out a great travel guitar package.

I have had this guitar for seven years now and i am 13. I have had no fret buzz, but there is an little buzz in the bridge. The guitar sounds great on clean and with distortion. I wish there was another tone knob and you could reach the upper frets more. I am looking at an Ibanez S470DXQM to add to my arsenal too, anyway great guitar highly recomended!

I have played guitar both professionally and recreationally for over 30 years. I own "the best" Gibson and Fenders out there, electric and acoustic. I didn't expect too much from this little guy, but I was pleasantly surprised. For the price, it's very nicely finished, has a nice, straight neck, maintains low fret action and stays in tune very well, all things considered. The only thing I changed was to put a slightly heavier set of strings on it, as suggested in some of the reviews I read. It is great for sitting on the couch or in the front seat of the car, and it sounds a lot like a strat! Would be a great first electric guitar for a kid, it's very easy to play. In my opinion, it's excellent for the money.

Fun little guy to play. Set it up to my taste. Plays fine 6x20. Got the "Hello Kitty" version for my niece's 8 month old baby girl. And got a black colored one for my other niece's 6 month old baby boy. This is another viable tool in my arsenal.

Terrible Absolutely Terrible

This guitar is utter crap. I bought it thinking it could be a beater guitar to take camping and social events etc... Imagine my disappointment when I couldn't even stand it at even these low expectations. The pickups are faulty and often generate their own distortion and the knobs are still scratchy after multiple cleanings. The worst part by far are the "dead frets" on the guitar. These frets just don't play they buzz. On mine it's the 12th on the G string and 10th on the B string. The harmonics don't sound on the 7th and 9th fret and the 12th fret harmonics are weak at best. It's ashame that someone can't buy a playable guitar for such a low cost anymore but it is true that you get what you pay for. I will be returning this piece of crap ASAP
