The Squier Classic Vibe '60s Stratocaster is a rough and tumble electric guitar ready for almost any musical situation. Coming in 3-color sunburst over alder, this rosewood fingerboard, 21-fret, vintage tint gloss maple neck guitar definitely has that '60s vibe but with the modern playability of a 9.5" neck radius and medium jumbo frets. This Squier Strat's tone is thick with a custom set of AlNiCo V single-coil pickups—a quick attack with a bit more midrange oomph and a bridge pickup that packs a knockout punch! Custom stagger pole pieces provide improved string-to-string balance.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best stratocaster I've ever owned. I've owned both a Mexican and a USA standard stratocaster. First of all, the finish is perfect. I purchased the Candy Apple Red 60's Strat, and the finish just glows! I was worried before I opened the box that I was going to find something wrong with the guitar. I was wrong! The frets are perfect. The intonation is perfect. The pickups sound amazing. I play through a Peavy Classic 30 and it has that familiar ballsy strat tone. I am especially impressed with the veneer fingerboard. Also the neck wood looks like its quartersawn tiger maple! Don't look at the label, just buy one!

Does not matter if your wallet it thick or thin, Even Eric Clapton would appreciate and instrument of this quality and this price. They are crafted in China but DON'T let that deter you from buying this guitar. Or even a Mexican made Strat for that matter. I am playing mine through a VOX 15R amp and the sound and tone is ideal for Eric Clapton especially from the 2005 dvd CREAM @ Royal Albert Hall. I have owned many guitars in the last 22 years each with its own atributes but for $350 you will be pleasanlty amazed by the quality. Beautiful paint, fast neck, and most importantly the SOUND! which is superb! All you Blues nuts, like myself, need to plug one of these up before you pay $900 to $2,000 for a USA made strat. Squier outdid themselves this time!!!!!!!!

The quality of this inexpensive guitar may surprise you. The folks at Squier have put a lot of attention and care into the Classic Vibe series. The guitar feels good, and plays very smooth. It has a wide range of tonal possibilities. It’s a great strat for your dollar. I have played for many years, and played many guitars in all price ranges...this one definitely stands out, and gives some more expensive guitars a run for the money.

My only complaints would be that the cut of the nut could be a little more precise, there was some glue or something on the fretboard (not hard to wipe off, but shouldn't be there), and the bridge pickup is not wired into the tone control (a very vintage method, but a more modern wiring would have been nice; I may change the wiring myself later). Otherwise I am extremely pleased.

I have played squiers before that "come close" to fenders. But this one beats every squier OR FENDER I have ever played. I put this one up against a Eric Johnson strat, and the squier won. Then I tried it against an american standard, and the americans frets were a slight bit smother, but the squier was much better overall. This is the best guitar I have ever played and i will be buying it as soon as I have the money. Save yourself major money and get this squier 60s classic vibe strat!!

I have a Fender HWY 1 Stratocaster and I was looking for another Fender Standard for a back-up guitar. I just could not buy one because the sound was so inferior to mine at home. I happened to pick up the CV 60 and was amazed. Played real nice, tone was good, the next thing I know I am walking out with it instead of a Fender Standard.
