Lake Placid Blue Olympic White 2-Color Sunburst, Closeup Lake Placid Blue, with Amp Olympic White, with Amp Classic Vibe Group

The Squier Classic Vibe '50s Stratocaster is an electric guitar that leaves no doubt as to its true Fender identity. With its cool finishes on an alder body and 21-fret vintage tint gloss maple neck, this beauty definitely has that '50s vibe. But you also get the modern playability of a 9.5" radius neck and medium jumbo frets. The tone is unmistakable as well, with a custom set of AlNiCo 3 single-coil pickups. This Squier guitar's tone is clear and bright with terrific sustain even in crunch mode! Custom-staggered pole pieces provide improved string-to-string balance.

Classic Vibe! Back in 1982, the very first Squier by Fender guitars and basses came ringing out of Asia. Known for their excellent vintage-quality look, feel, sound and construction, those early Squier instruments and their Fender branded counterparts are now highly sought-after collector's items revered by guitar enthusiasts as models of "getting it right" while aiming at value-conscious players. The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and vibe. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct—but rather imparting the vibe of a classic Fender design. Each has a distinctive feature set combinations— adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value—Classic Vibe!

This guitar kicks ass. I mean for the amount you pay, the sound and playability are unreal. The reason I gave it a lower rating for quality is simply because it does not have high quality parts. But trust me, its still worth it. I've since resolder the tone control for the bridge pickup, which I recommend. But I've had no problem getting good Eric Johnson cleans and lead sounds from the neck and bridge pickups. This pedal combined with FUZZ or Tube Driven overdrive is incredible. Oh, there is one thing that has been troubling me though. There is a slight volume loss in the bridge pickup compared to the neck pickup. I'm not sure if this is standard with all strats but it happens with mine. No worries though, I usually never hit the bridge without overdrive, so it works out fine.

get it. if you can't afford a 57 reissue, this is a good substitute for the money.

cheers!

After hearing so many good things about these guitars, and wanting a fender strat guitar, i decided to get one. The quality on this guitar is unbelievable for the price. I personally think it is better than my Jackson DKMGT and Gibson V. The only flaw that I found was on my volume knob, there is the slightest piece of it missing around the edge. But it is not noticeable at all. Overall a really good bang for your buck. I plan on getting the 60's version in the next few months.

Bought this Strat in Placid Blue Strat CV along with the Blonde 50s Tele CV few months ago & must say I am having an extremely difficult time deciding on which one to play, because they are both that good. I was rockin' them both straight out of the boxes. All I had to do was a minor tuning on each one. After 40+ years of playing & owning a myriad of Gibson & Fender guitars, I've never had it so good. No matter if I run them through my Crate FW120 Full Stack or my Fender FM212R clean or via my Digitech RP350, I am in Heavenly, Musical Bliss. So if anyone cares to listen to a Classic/Blues/Hard Rocker, these axes will definitely fit any bill. BTW - They are also terrific for Metal-Heads, ie...Rammstein, Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, etc... In other words, they both will sound as sweet as Carlos Santana playing "Moonflower" to as nasty as Angus' "Dirty Deeds". I strongly advise getting one or both before Fender wakes up & raises the prices because presently, they are both true bargains.

I couldn't return this guitar fast enough. Sounds were brittle and harsh, fret ends were sharp, gloss neck finish was a little too sticky for my taste. I will say that the finish is beautiful, though. I was disappointed, to say the least, after reading so many positive reviews. I also own a Squier Affinity Telecaster Special (Butterscotch), which IMHO blows the Classic Vibe Strat away in terms of sound AND playability.

Hey, err, my son was over and he played my new 50`s Classic Vibe. He still has the Gibson Les Paul Junior that I`ve bought him years ago and he`s still very happy with it. He said that the 50`s CV Strat feels very light, almost like a toy and the 60`s CV was heavier and he liked it better for its weight and balance and that bit more bite in the tone. Though he couln`t find much else wrong with the 50`s CV, he said that the 60`s is probably the better deal and he said that I was very lucky to get it for that price, but he`s coming from the mahogany Les Paul side and I like a light guitar and a soft sound to sooth my aking back. So there...
