Desert Sand, Body Closeup

The Squier Classic '50s Vibe Duo-Sonic is an electric guitar that is dripping with coolness and classic Fender vibe. The Duo-Sonic guitar was originally conceived as a student-grade model designed to capture the attention of 1950s youth caught up in the burgeoning rock 'n' roll craze. Collectors, performing musicians and Fender fanatics have since come to know the Duo-Sonic as an ultra-cool addition to the Fender line of Fine Electric Instruments.

Coming in Desert Sand over Basswood, this 21 fret gloss maple neck prize combines a comfortable 24" scale with the modern playability of a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets. Equipped with a custom set of AlNiCo V single-coil pickups and three-way selector switch, the Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic produces bright, clear tones that are unmistakably Fender.

Classic Vibe! Back in 1982, the very first Squier by Fender guitars and basses came ringing out of Asia. Known for their excellent vintage-quality look, feel, sound and construction, those early Squier instruments and their Fender branded counterparts are now highly sought-after collector's items revered by guitar enthusiasts as models of "getting it right" while aiming at value-conscious players. The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and vibe. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct, but rather imparting the 'vibe' of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations—all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value—Classic Vibe!

Great Bang for the Buck...

I was blown away at the sound and quality of construction of this guitar. Love the clean, spanky tone. A cross between a Tele and a Strat. Actually sounds more Tele-like than the Telecaster I own! Very clean too--no static or hum. Also, the guitar is much prettier than the bland pictures you see. The aluminum pick guard is nice touch and rare for a guitar in this price class. My only issue was rough fret ends. Odd, as the finish on the guitar is so well done overall. But those fret ends are something else! Nothing that a little filing cannot solve. A great value in an electric guitar.

How does Squier do this?, something has got to give. This is my nineth squier and I'm totally speechless. FOR THE MONEY, this is untouchable by anyone or any company. It far exsecced my expectations (bought sight unseen)the sound is dripping with Fender. I've been saying this for awhile now but Squier is not a joke anymore. Squiers bought: Tele custom,Tele standard, Jagmaster, Tele Thinline, Butterscoth Affinty tele(it's so so)Strat LE sunburst(so so) Squeir 51 x2,Duo Sonic and next classic vibe Tele

Great Guitar

This guitar was actually really awesome. I was extremely surprised by this. I have never liked Squier. Most of their stuff I've tried has been bad, even for cheap standards. This guitar floored me though. I played it through a Deville 212 and it blew me away. The neck was pretty smooth. The pickups were extremely bluesy. I loved it. This is mainly a blues guitar. So it may not be versatile for other styles. No metal for sure. But if you want a really good inexpensive guitar, this is the way to go.

This is a great little guitar, beautiful, and I use it a lot to compose music on. I actually like all 3 settings, and usually play it on a small tube amp, and it sounds darn good, w/vintage mojo. Tuners are a bit flimsy, but other than that the quality is great, and the guitar is finished off nicely. Neck feels great. It's like getting a 1950's guitar in perfect shape at an affordable price. Its a keeper. I also got the CV tele, and that guitar is absolutely amazing.

Diamond in the rough

I had my eye on this guitar ever since Squier announced its production. I was weary of buying a squier, but i knew that every once in a while the company comes through with a real winner so I ordered it for myself. I have put more hours on this guitar than any other guitar I own. Its short scale neck makes it fun to sweep pick, the neck fits well in the pocket and the pickups remain very clean. My only gripe is that the pickups sound to similar (the bridge should be a little bit hotter) but hey, squier wanted it to sound vintage and its definitely got that vintage tone. I highly recommend this guitar if you want a great guitar with a small price tag.
